A suspected shooter was killed inside an Oregon elementary school Thursday after gunfire left multiple victims, including children, police said.
Officers were going room by room to evacuate Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend as authorities worked to determine who shot and killed the suspect.
Police said a bystander may have intervened.
"We don't have confirmation yet who shot the suspect. It may have been a bystander," Sheila Miller, Bend Police Department’s communications manager said during a news briefing.
Police confirmed there was one shooter and that the suspect was dead.

I've been ruminating too much about how torture is the fix for the evil people all over the place. The soft on crime system and faulty jury system is not at all a deterrent to horrible crimes again and again.
