A young woman reported that she was raped in a frat house bathroom at the University of Chicago — as a group of men cheered “when’s my turn” and “let me in,” outside the door.
The shocking report at another elite university fraternity house comes weeks after the “Cornell 7” gang rape allegations.
The alleged assault at UChicago took place in the early hours of Sunday during a rowdy party at the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity house in Hyde Park, The New York Times reported.
The woman, 21, was not a student of the university but attended the party alongside her pal Mia Lara, 21, and another friend after seeing it advertised on the frat’s Instagram.
Lara said she and her pals were dancing in the basement and her friend started kissing a man before disappearing.
After searching the house, Lara found a small group of men cheering outside a locked bathroom door in the basement, “saying things like, ‘When’s it my turn?’ and ‘I want to go in there’” she told the Times.
Lara managed to force herself into the bathroom where she found her friend sitting on the floor, slumped against the wall, undressed with her underwear pulled down shortly before 2 a.m., the outlet reported.
The man, who was also not a student at the university, had his hands on her wrists as she yelled “Make it stop” and “Get me out of here,” Lara told the publication.
Lara chased down the man outside of the frat house, accusing him of assaulting her friend, to which he allegedly responded, “She wanted to.”

This is how I know the Greek life to be.
I went to U of C. Not only is it an outlier in that even now the ratio of students skews male (it was close to 2-1 in the early 80s, but is now down to 53-47), but the girls who go there with a few exceptions are not stellar beauties, and a lot of second-wave feminists who hate men. The school is also regarded as the antithesis of a party school, with large parts of the campus neighborhood zoned dry for private restaurants. Frats were maybe 5% in the early ‘80s, and I doubt it has increased since then.
This kind of behavior is not unknown at frats. An important part of Tom Wolfe’s book “I am Charlotte Simmons”, which takes place around 2003, has to do with similar behavior at a frat party at the fictitious, but prestigious, Dupont University. While the book is fictitious, it is largely based on Wolfe’s own research, which Wolfe ispretty good at (despite his having an ancient Kaypro computer do things that would likely be beyond its ability, even if it were an x86 Kaypro).
UChicago AEPi Chapter Says No Fraternity Members Involved in Sunday Sexual Assault snip....
"According to a University alert released on Sunday afternoon, a woman not affiliated with UChicago was sexually assaulted during a party at the AEPi fraternity house before a bystander intervened. Eyewitnesses described the suspect as a “a 5’ 7” South Asian male with a dark complexion, short hair on the sides and longer curly hair on top, wearing a black T-shirt, black jogging pants, and white shoes."
"AEPi Lambda—the fraternity’s UChicago chapter—and the University both said that the suspect had been caught on camera fleeing the house.
