WASHINGTON — New York blew off 16,000 Trump administration ICE orders to detain suspected heinous illegal migrants accused or convicted in more than 50,000 criminal charges, disturbing new data show.
The Department of Homeland Security said the municipalities across the Dem-driven state have refused to comply with its detainment requests 16,070 times since President Trump re-entered office fewer than two years ago — refusing to hand over criminal migrants suspected or convicted of everything from murder to kidnapping and sexual assault.
“While sanctuary politicians continue to release dangerous criminals onto their streets, our brave law enforcement officers will continue to risk their lives to arrest these heinous criminals and make America safe again. Illegal aliens have no sanctuary in America.” DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin told The Post.
“We enforce these laws with no help from Mayor [Zohran] Mamdani and Governor [Kathy] Hochul.
“The Trump Administration is committed to protecting the American people in every city and every state, and we won’t let sanctuary politicians stand in our way,” Mullin said.
ICE detainers are requests made to state and local law-enforcement agencies asking them to detain a suspected illegal migrant for as long as 48 hours so that the feds can have enough time to take custody of them.
But Albany lets local governments throughout the state set their own policies, turning places such as the Big Apple into dangerous lefty “Sanctuary Cities” that refuse to honor the requests.

Great News! they are digging their hole deeper!
Just put out “Wanted: Dead or Alive” posters and let a small reward be offered.
This could make for interesting, adrenaline-filled vacations.
Why isn’t complying with ICE detained requests compulsory?
Cut off funding for a couple of programs. They’ll soon be squealing.
The Democrat Party IS the party of crime.
Dems are doing their best to advance crime and criminals they let into the Country to get their vote. Unfortunately they cannot vote.
That’s okay. Just reject any of their requests for money............
I wonder how many of those 16k re getting subsidized.
If Gotham would vote for this why does it now have RCV...?
Keep voting Democrat, New York, and making yourselves victims to illegal invader criminals:
“Biden-Unleashed Illegal With Shocking Criminal Record Arrested TWICE in ONE DAY in Sanctuary New York”
“ICE Arrests Suspected Tren de Aragua Gangbanger Repeatedly Released in Sanctuary New York”
“Mob of 50+ Impedes Border Patrol Agents, Helps Suspected Illegals Escape After 7-Hour Standoff in Upstate New York”
“Salvadoran Brute Ordered Deported Decades Ago Charged With Raping Underage Girl on Long Island”
— Borderhawk
Shockingly the Dems don’t care
I am convinced Mamdani is a foreign/British agent, in the old colonial mold of Indian/Muslim compradors sent to places like Africa or the Caribbean, to act as agents for London.
He was sent to NY City, where they and US Atlanticists still have control to create chaos.
ANYONE DOCUMENTING THE FINANCIAL WIZARDS & OTHER WEALTHY THAT ARE LEAVING NYC FOR GREENER PASTURES????
WHAT IS THE EXPECTED “POINT OF NO RETURN”???
There are no Sanctuary Cities
They are organized crime cities
Yeah...NY needs high crime rates to justify all of the Fed $$$ that they get for law enforcement. A giant circle jerk.
Love to see the establishment of a bounty hunter corps, not US govt so cities have no big target to criticize...and well paid to attract the best ex-jocks and highly fit female sumo wrestlers...it is a concept in need of some fleshing out, but i believe there is merit in the idea...bounty hunters go where the legit law enforcers dont have time or motivation to get to....
Love to see the establishment of a bounty hunter corps,

A bounty hunter in the United States is a private agent working for a bail bondsman who captures fugitives or criminals for a commission or bounty. The occupation, officially known as a bail enforcement agent or fugitive recovery agent, has traditionally operated outside the legal constraints that govern police officers and other agents of the state. This is because a bail agreement between a defendant and a bail bondsman is essentially a civil contract that is incumbent upon the bondsman to enforce. Since they are not police officers, bounty hunters are exposed to legal liabilities from which agents of the state are protected as these immunities enable police to perform their functions effectively without fear of lawsuits. Bounty hunters are typically independent contractors paid a commission of the total bail amount that is owed by the fugitive and co-signer; they provide their own professional liability insurance and only get paid if they are able to find the “skip” and bring them in.
Bounty hunting is a vestige of common law which was created during the Middle Ages. In the United States, bounty hunters primarily draw their legal imprimatur from an 1872 Supreme Court decision, Taylor v. Taintor. The practice historically existed in many parts of the world; however, as of the 21st century, it is found almost exclusively in the United States as the practice is illegal under the laws of most other countries. State laws vary widely as to the legality of the practice; Illinois, Kentucky, Oregon, and Wisconsin have outlawed commercial bail bonds, while Wyoming offers few regulations governing the practice.[1]
