Apple News allegedly failed to promote a single story about the Democratic National Committee’s financial woes among its top 20 stories over nearly nine months, according to a new analysis by the Media Research Center.
The watchdog group found that none of the 78 stories it identified about the DNC’s mounting debt were promoted by Apple News from Jan. 1 through Sept. 28 — just weeks before the 2026 midterm elections.
“Apple isn’t curating the news,” David Bozell, president of the MRC, said. “It’s running a high-tech protection racket for the political left.”
The findings come as Democrats grapple with the party’s financial struggles heading into the midterms and less than a year after the DNC disclosed millions of dollars in debt.
In December 2025, the DNC blamed nearly $16 million in debt on the failed 2024 Biden-Harris campaign, according to Federal Election Commission filings.
Kamala Harris’ failed 2024 presidential campaign spent roughly $1.5 billion, while the DNC was left with $20.5 million in debt. The party then took out a $15 million loan in October 2025 to support off-year gubernatorial elections in Virginia and New Jersey.
Despite Democrats’ victories in both states, the DNC entered 2026 with $17.5 million in debt, the New York Times first reported.
“For years, the media lectured Americans about ‘dirty money in politics’ whenever Republicans had the fundraising advantage,” Bozell said. “Now Democrats are facing a financial mess of their own making, and suddenly the story isn’t worth telling.

Gawd...what a dope.
The struggle is so real that the party has Billionaires fund the NYC 'hands off' circle jerk. Starring Ruffalo and Bobby DeWeirdo.
The ‘Rat Party Party used to be funded by USAID?

Do all tech companies benefit from the intelligence communities graces? Are some tech companies solely dependent on these graces?
USAID money has dried up.
Thanks D.O.G.E.
Does not seem to be affecting them that much. Remember they have the biggest ad agencies in the country. ABC, NBC, CBS and all the paper media.
Whohas more viewers?
CNN or Apple News?

While I tend to believe this, because we have seen evidence of much of the media doing this very thing over many decades, it’s hard to prove, particularly these days when the media can clain that there are user, market, demographic, and context algorithms it can blame whenever patterns like this are revealed. And of course, if you ask them to show how they determined what information would be shared, promotied or demoted, they’ll claim trade secrets.
What gets lost on the average person about political propaganda is the fact that what you publish, even when you do it with spin, is arguably not as important as what you conceal.
The Democrats are NOT BROKE! They have Billionaires and millionaires out the wazoo!
Why is Apple News helping Trump like this?
Surely, 80 million Biden voters would pour money into the Party if they knew there was trouble. Keeping this as quiet as possible can only help the TRUMPNAZIFASCIST party!
SARC/OFF

Is anybody surprised?
Every dem ad that pops up on youtube I let play out and click on it at the end.
