Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton calls Donald Trump the "Olympic champion of lying" in an interview on Thursday's broadcast of "Morning Joe."
JOE SCARBOROUGH, 'MORNING JOE' HOST: (snip) You just, but, but you talk about not learning lessons. You look at Donald Trump and COVID and Donald Trump telling Bob Woodward after it's on tape. Basically I lied about COVID because I wanted the economy to reopen up.
FORMER SECRETARY OF STATE HILLARY CLINTON: Well, that is exactly the lesson we did not learn. And you know, look, this, this president is the Olympic champion of lying. He lies about everything.
He lies just for the sake of lying. But when it affects people's health, when it affects their pocketbook, when it affects our, you know, soldiers and our air force and our Marines and our sailors and everybody in the middle East, when, when it's just lying that puts people's lives at risks or makes life so much harder, that is something that the American people should not tolerate. And, you know, I also listened to your first segment about artificial intelligence and I just wanted to underscore when the nine 11 commission came out with its report, the most dramatic statement was that it was a failure of imagination.
That is what we're facing with AI. The, the alarm bells are sounding people from within the industry. I mean, you know, I, I can't pretend to know enough about it to be very, you know, fluid in my discussion, but I know enough to listen to people who know things on the inside.
