Deportees Sent to Tiny African Nation After Refusing to Get Off Plane
Six migrants deported from the United States refused to leave a plane in Liberia last week and were instead flown to Equatorial Guinea.
The group included four Cuban men, one Brazilian man and one Cameroonian woman, according to accounts from a person on the flight and a lawyer in contact with them, as reported by NBC News and The Associated Press.
They arrived in Liberia Thursday as part of a third-country deportation arrangement. When the plane landed, the six refused to disembark, saying Liberia was “not their country.”
Other passengers got off because they feared officers would force them, a Honduran deportee on the flight said.
The six were then separated from the rest of the group.
Authorities told them they would be returned to the United States. Instead, the plane continued to Malabo, the capital of Equatorial Guinea.

So, why weren't they deported to Cuba, Brazil, and Cameroon, respectively?
Why Liberia?
Was this chosen randomly, or do we have some kind of arrangement with Liberia?
You just can’t stay here.”
I worked an INS detention project in 1990-91 returning crazy criminal boat lift Cubans. The diplomatic logistics were crazy, it almost came down to if Fidel has a good dump that morning. Just get them out, Liberia, Cameroon, or over the Atlantic, I don’t care.
They had the chance to self-deport. Were even offered money to go back to their homeland, but they chose to ignore the offer. Now they’re whining because of where they ended up? What f-ing ingrates illegals are.
“You don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here”
(Blues Brothers, and every last call I’ve heard)
We have arrangements with Liberia. Many countries will not take deportees back. Because they are criminals. Equatorial Guinea is a new one for me.
Convicted illegals in the US have choices. Go home or spin the wheel on where you will go. Third party countries are in the mix because we pay them.
Don’t want to get off the plane in Liberia? Fine. We’ll boot your ass off the plane in Guinea.
I reckon law enforcement organizations in the receiving countries will keep a close eye on these critters.
Liberia is a former US colony, with a government set up in imitation of ours. If you have to go to Africa, that is one of the better countries to end up in. By contrast, when you’re talking about African s-holes, Equatorial Guinea is as bad as they get. Since they became independent in 1968, they have only had two presidents, both of them brutal dictators. In fact, the first president was nicknamed “the Prince of Fear.” To whoever decided to send that plane on to Equatorial Guinea, I would call it a job well done.
I see. Makes sense.
Thanks.
Uganda. Until it tips over.
Cuba won’t take Cubans. I don’t know how old you are, but I lived the Mariel Boatlift in 1980. That’s where the movie “Scarface” came from.
South and Central American countries don’t want their refuse back. Except Salvador is happy to take back TdA and MS-13 and put them in the cooler.
Given choices, these deportees chose African countries rather than their respective homelands.
It’s like giving a toddler a choice. Which vegetable would you like to eat? Your choice.
They should have gotten off the plane in Liberia. Lessons learned for them.
“Liberia is not my country”
Neither is the UsA you illegal alien trash. So piss off.
If they won’t leave the plane, tear gas them. They’ll get off.
Is Malabo on anyone's bucket-list?
Regards,
Thank you for that information.
Parachute them onto North Sentinel Island. Never any recidivism there, problem solved forever, and beneficial to global overpopulation.
guess what mofos. the USA is NOT your country either. Shoulda dropped them in Gitmo. At least the Cuban would be back home.
Are they criminals? Some information is missing from the story.
Considering Cubans can legally get asylum in the US if they actually reach our shores, for Cubans to be deported, they must be criminals. That’s not necessarily true for the others. Their only crimes might be being in the US illegally but you can be assured the Cubans in that group have committed crimes.
