BOSTON, MA — Governor Maura Healey signed into law House Bill 5595 this morning, legalizing abortion in the state of Massachusetts up until a child enters Kindergarten.
The new statute would allow mothers five years to bond with their baby before deciding if they would like to murder them.
"It's a great day for women's healthcare," said Governor Healey. "The decision to murder your toddler is back where it should be: between the mother and her doctor. No longer will the government force its way into these conversations where it doesn't belong, saying things like, 'Hey, you can't dismember your own four-year-old.' The long, dystopian nightmare where women do not have autonomy over their own bodies — including the autonomy to use their bodies to murder a toddler — is finally over."
Massachusetts had previously restricted abortions after 24 weeks of pregnancy, when a baby typically can survive outside the mother's womb. Though the baby can survive on its own, Democrats felt that mothers still might want to kill their offspring anyway.
"So what if the baby is its own person? Why should that keep you from killing them?" said Governor Healey. "What if the baby turns three and they like have an annoying lisp or something? Should a mother be forced to continue caring for the child against her will? That is why women deserve at least five years to decide if they want to 'off' their kid or not. If they're still undecided, they can hold the kid back a year from starting school. One more year to decide whether to 'pull the trigger,' so to speak."
At publishing time, Democrats had unveiled a new bill to legalize abortion until a child turns 18, called the "Save Women's Healthcare Act."

Massachusetts Removes Abortion Restrictions, Joining List of 9 Other States

Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey signed legislation on Monday that gives doctors the final say on whether an abortion should be allowed late in pregnancy, making it the 10th state to allow the procedure at any point in pregnancy.
The initiative by 10 states has also been endorsed at the federal level. In 2023 by a 220-210 margin, the House of Representatives passed the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, with only one Democrat voting in favor. So, with only one exception within their party these Democrat legislators established a line of defense for abortion that included those born alive despite attempted abortion. The bill was recently reintroduced, but in the Senate Republicans joined Democrats in thwarting its progress.
According to the logic for voting against the below bill, infants emerging from an abortion procedure, unlike those babies residing in intensive care units, was considered by Democrats, and most recently Republicans, to be medical waste and not people. The medical personnel in attendance were not only absolved from any criticism in failing to provide care but instead should intervene to murder the baby. Read the bill and/or the excerpt to see if that is not the most reasonable interpretation.

Congress finds as follows:
(1) If an abortion results in the live birth of an infant, the infant is a legal person for all purposes under the laws of the United States and entitled to all the protections of such laws.
(2) Any infant born alive after an abortion or within a hospital, clinic, or other facility has the same claim to the protection of the law that would arise for any newborn, or for any person who comes to a hospital, clinic, or other facility for screening and treatment or otherwise becomes a patient within its care.
Any health care practitioner present at the time the child is born alive shall—
(A) exercise the same degree of professional skill, care, and diligence to preserve the life and health of the child as a reasonably diligent and conscientious health care practitioner would render to any other child born alive at the same gestational age; and
(B) following the exercise of skill, care, and diligence required under subparagraph (A), ensure that the child born alive is immediately transported and admitted to a hospital.
I may know of some older candidates........
Reminds me of a house sign I once saw “No Place for Hate” with a bumper sticker on a car in that driveway which read “Pro-Choice.” Nothing says love like terminating a baby.
Philip K. Dick wrote a short story called “The Pre-Persons” in which people “became human” once they understood algebra (IIRC). A van would patrol neighborhoods, and if a parent were frustrated with their child, they could flag down the van and just sort of “get rid of the problem”. Then a High School math teacher climbed into the van and claimed that he didn’t understand algebra and caused a bit of a problem.
Bottomline: It’s all arbitrary once you entertain anything beyond the zygote.
The Bee better be careful, giving them ideas like this.
Elections would be very different under that rule.
I’m more than a little surprised this IS The Bee.

Coming soon... from a DSA candidate near you
It would seem Massholes should be able to kill their children until 18 as they have to be responsible for them for that period.
Make it 15. Back in the day I had a couple of teenagers that would have been strong candidates!🤯
Oh, my nominees are way past 15.
Maura was baptized in the Catholic Church. She is in a relationship with another lesbian attorney. She is obviously mentally defective and no one in Ma. is safe. If she is comfortable taking out a viable baby with no remorse she would take out any human being because she is in control of her body. What a sick puppy.
Greg Gutfeld passionately attacked this new law last night on his show, joined by Charles Payne.
I support it in some cases up to the time they are elected.

Infanticide in bioethics: Singer’s argument and cross-framework debates

Abstract
The aim of this article is to analyze Peter Singer’s utilitarian approach to infanticide and compare it with alternative moral frameworks through systematic philosophical analysis. Singer argues that cognitive capacities, such as self-awareness and the ability to form preferences, rather than species membership, should determine moral consideration. This perspective leads him to conclude that newborns do not possess full moral personhood and may be subject to different ethical calculations. This includes his controversial “replaceability argument” regarding severely disabled infants. The analysis also considers supporting views from philosophers like Michael Tooley and Jeff McMahan ...
As I just comment...The Babylon Bee article is funny...
Yes, the Bee is being the Bee. Believe it or not, there are some that would agree with 'Legalizes Abortion Up Until Kindergarten.'
I recall decades ago taking an Ethics course which examined the books/teaching of Peter Albert David Singer, who I believe headed the Princeton Ethics department at one time. Singer posited that a child lacked self-awareness until 2-3 years of age and that child was no better than a mature pig at the emotional and intelligence level. He further posited that killing a child up to 2-3 years of age would be the moral equivalent of killing a mature pig.
Our educational system is filled with people with perverted and sick valued. Shame on Princeton and every other school that hires these godless scum. Shame on our government for funding godless schools.
That works for me. I’ll design the test he can take. Then applying basic common law would lock him up for life
By the way when Congress was writing ObamaCare they relied upon Peter Singer to articulate in the New York Times Congressional intent without equivocation. “Rationing health care means getting value for the billions spent by setting limits on which treatments should be paid for from the public purse….There’s no doubt that it’s tough – politically, emotionally, and ethically - to make a decision that means that someone will die sooner than they would have if the decision had gone the other way….The task of health care bureaucrats is then to get the best value for resources they have been allocated….If a teenager can be expected to live another 70 years, saving that life gains 70 years, whereas a person of 85 can be expected to live another 5 years, then saving the 85-year-old will gain only 5 life-years. That suggests saving one teenager is equivalent to saving 14 85-year-olds”.
Under this definition of ethics, a family, doctor, or community of people that brings forward unquantifiable contentions of human worth offer irrelevant arguments for determining the level of healthcare the bureaucracy determines a person should receive.
