A new Canadian study led by University of Toronto professor Harvey Anderson adds to growing evidence that full-fat dairy can be part of a healthy diet.
In the 12-week study, 74 adults consumed different amounts of dairy under varying dietary conditions. The researchers found that eating three servings of full-fat dairy per day did not negatively affect body weight, body composition, energy metabolism, or blood lipid levels. The findings were recently published in The Journal of Nutrition.
Why Full-Fat Dairy Has Long Raised Concerns
Dairy foods contain saturated fat, which has traditionally been associated with higher cholesterol and an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. As a result, dietary recommendations in Canada and many other countries have typically encouraged people to choose fat-free or low-fat dairy products as a way to reduce saturated fat intake.
Anderson, a professor of nutritional sciences at U of T's Temerty Faculty of Medicine, says the evidence from human research has not always matched those concerns. Numerous human studies have found no link between eating full-fat dairy and harmful health outcomes. Some studies, including recent research led by Temerty Medicine professor Kozeta Milliku, have even reported positive or protective effects associated with dairy consumption.

Eggs and whole milk. Butter, too.
Heck, if you can find it, raw milk, very tasty and probably very good for you.
Low-fat milk in the United States and Canada come with retinol supplements. So you might not know if the effects in the low-fat milk group were caused by the low-fat milk or by the retinol supplement.
What seems painfully obvious maybe, at least in hindsight. Monetary policy is inherently political.
It seems to me a bit unlikely, but when the American economy was first hollowed out, starting in the early 1970s and succeeding waves, high inflation and unemployment, dollar devaluations and oil embargos
Everything meat & dairy, butter and eggs did a moonshot in price. And almost simultaneously with that, “they” started telling us all those good things were “bad for your health”, but thankfully all those cheaper ersatz synthetic substitutes are super duper Really Good For You.
If God didn’t want us to drink milk He wouldn’t have made it taste so good!.................
Milk....It does a body good, Ping!..............
Couldn’t see that one coming.
Just another example of how the medical industrial complex made bad decisions to destroy the health of everyone.
There’s no money to be made in keeping people healthy.
We eat eggs and butter now. No butter wannabes (then do not melt in the pan) but we will stick with the low fat milk.
Fat is your friend. Its the fuel we burn. Anyone against fat is a moron.
Have always and still do....drink whole milk. A favorite is dunking graham crackers for evening snack...or like right now. margarine was a lot cheaper than butter when I was a kid. Wouldn’t think of buying it today...Butter or nothing!!
always ignored the low fat no fat nonsense
the brain loves fat
I never went with low fat stuff. Mainly because it tasted like 💩.

You can’t get your share of butter if you don’t make toast.
“Trust the science”....”the science is settled”...
...never question your overlords.
Yep!
>>If God didn’t want us to drink milk He wouldn’t have made it taste so good!.................
and if god didn’t want us to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat?
I believe that is an acquired taste. My husband, who spent some summers on his uncle’s farm, reports that raw milk “tastes like guts”. I suppose if you never drank pasteurized milk, you wouldn’t know the difference.
Homogenization is bad too.
