WASHINGTON, D.C. — A committee from the United States Senate announced today that they were finally joining the rest of the nation in holding Anthony Fauci in contempt.
The announcement came after Fauci appeared in front of a congressional hearing last week and pleaded the Fifth Amendment on every question asked of him. Americans admitted they'd already been holding him in contempt for years.
"We can't stand that guy," American Maria Maxwell said. "He's responsible for shutting down schools. I still haven't recovered from having my three kids online for 8 hours a day. I'm glad to hear the Senate is holding him in contempt. Me too, guys, me too."
The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee voted to hold Fauci in contempt, only now arriving at what many American citizens said they've felt for a long time.
"Yeah, who doesn't?" Dylan Tolbert said. "That guy… I can't even stand to see his face. I hold him in major contempt. Welcome to the party, senators."
Many called for consequences for Fauci, who orchestrated lockdowns and vaccine mandates at the peak of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, the Senate admitted that holding a largely ceremonial vote to hold him in contempt was the harshest penalty they could administer.
At publishing time, Fauci was seen accidentally pouring out a vial of something many suspected to be full of Ebola virus.

I presume the committee vote (8-7) goes to the floor, where I doubt there are 50 votes to sustain.
The headline is misleading. “The Senate” hasn’t done anything, one of its committees did.
The headline is satire. :-)
But to your first point, I read that the committee is referring directly to the DOJ to circumvent a floor vote.
As for ‘the rest of the nation’. I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s elderly. People give doctors the benefit for trying. It was important for Rand to call him out in front of the nation before we could all move on. If he passes away during what I expect will be a long legal battle his supporters will blame republicans for his death. Comes with the territork.
The next one should be Jamie Gorelick when she built that wall between the CIA and FBI that could have prevented 911. She was put on the commission investigating it to cover her ass.
It’s an odd contempt mechanism as explained on daily signal last nite
Ooh...they are holding him in contempt. He goes to jail this time for sure!
Pffft.
“...I’d prefer that he hang...”
They can’t hang him for contempt of congress and he has already been protected with a blanket pardon from the Biden administration for the acts he did. They can only get him for the contempt even though he deserves worse because he misused the pleading of the fifth. And he may stay alive longer this way as he doesn’t have to name names.

Where is flight risk Fauci ?
People erected a sign over a busy highway near here today. Said “Jail the pedo, not Fauci”.
The stupidity of the Left is amazing. Guess they had the day off...
> “Jail the pedo, not Fauci”
Isn’t it a bit late for that? Mohammed died 1400 years ago.
