Revisiting the Flight 800 crash...
Original Content | Today | By Laz A. Mataz

My moment of awakening, to the fact that the government lies to us and covers stuff up happened in the Flight 800 crash over Long Island Sound.

It was July 17, 1996, and I took a Mental Health day from work. I was tuned to MSNBC. Back in those days, MSNBC had not yet become an asylum for the politically insane, and actually had decent coverage about Clinton's many foibles, to eventually cover his scandals and subsequent impeachment.

Suddenly, Norah O'Donnell, who was working there at the time (and actually was a pretty decent journalist back then) cut into the programming with an announcement that Flight 800 had crashed, with no survivors. I moved right in front of the TV to watch.

Within 2 minutes, a video was posted that showed that the crash COULD NOT have been caused by a missile.

Wait, what???!?

No one had even mentioned the word 'missile'.... and the video was watermarked "CIA Video".

CRAZY.

Why would the CIA be producing this video within minutes of the crash? Why would it be distributing it so quickly? Why would it mention a missile, when NOBODY ELSE WAS?

These things set off my Whoa-This-Is-Weird-Radar.

Later, it was demonstrated that 670+ people saw a flame streaking up to meet the plane. You know, like a missile. One of those people was a National Guardsman, aloft in a plane, who just so happened to be a Missile-Plume expert. All of these witnesses were roundly scoffed by the government, and the official lie stood: It was a spontaneous center-fuel-tank explosion, and what everyone saw was the cabin section flying upwards.M

Despite the fact people were describing the plume flying up from the horizon-line, you know, the ground.

Yah right. Gotchya.

The motivation was obvious: If people thought a commercial airliner was struck by either a terrorist missile, or a friendly missile that went astray, airline traffic would collapse...and in 1997, Clinton did not need that distraction, not with his legal problems.

It was the first moment in my life that I realized that the government would lie to us, boldly and without shame, even when a half-a-thousand eyewitnesses contradicted them.

It was the first moment my vision became clear to just how venal and conniving the government could be.

This is the wreckage reconstuction.

You can see the mid section that blew out from an internal explosion.

“ So it is pretty rizz that I was skibidi and not at all Ohio”
WTF?
I’ve been around a long time and have followed the flight shoot down since it happened. Too many eyewitnesses to believe the center fuel exploded.
Mental health day? Thats in the category of birthday week. I thought the crazy laziness only started about the time of Obummer the magic neegro.

Is this a conspiracy theory?

Then I am in good company. "Conspiracy theories" around another topic:

1. The Lab Leak Hypothesis

Then: In early 2020, suggesting that SARS-CoV-2 may have escaped from the Wuhan Institute of Virology was widely condemned. Social media platforms actively censored the topic, and mainstream publications labeled it a xenophobic conspiracy theory.

Now: The lab leak hypothesis is considered a credible, mainstream scientific theory. Several major entities, including the U.S. Department of Energy and the FBI, concluded with varying degrees of confidence that a laboratory accident was the most likely origin. Other federal investigations and congressional panels, including the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, have continuously investigated the true origins of COVID-19.

2. Vaccine Side Effects and Myocarditis

Then: Early assertions that the mRNA vaccines could cause serious heart problems or sudden health complications were initially dismissed as anti-vaccine misinformation aimed at scaring the public.
Now: Public health agencies, including the CDC and the FDA, officially recognized a small but distinct risk of myocarditis (heart muscle inflammation) and pericarditis, particularly in young males, following mRNA vaccination. Medical professionals openly acknowledge these risks while maintaining that the overall benefits of vaccination outweigh the risks for most populations.

3. Vaccine Mandates and "Vaccine Passports"

Then: In 2020, claims that citizens would be forced to show digital proof of vaccination to enter restaurants, keep their jobs, travel, or participate in daily life were heavily dismissed as dystopian, conspiratorial paranoia.

Now: Federal, state, and corporate mandates became widespread realities across the globe. Digital "vaccine passports" and QR codes were officially implemented in major metropolitan areas, international travel hubs, and European countries to regulate public entry and employment.

4. Natural Immunity vs. Vaccine-Induced Immunity

Then: Early arguments that prior infection provided robust, lasting protection against COVID-19 were sidelined. Public health policy insisted that everyone required vaccination regardless of whether they had already recovered from the virus.

Now: Peer-reviewed medical data, including comprehensive studies published in The Lancet, formally recognized that natural immunity from a prior infection provides strong, durable protection against severe illness and hospitalization, matching or exceeding the protection offered by two doses of an mRNA vaccine.

5. Social Distancing Guidelines Lack Scientific Basis

Then: The "six-foot rule" for social distancing was implemented globally as an absolute, scientifically backed rule necessary to curb the spread of the virus. Anyone questioning its precision was accused of undermining public safety.

Now: During congressional testimony, former federal officials—including Dr. Anthony Fauci—acknowledged that the six-foot rule was not based on rigorous clinical trial data or specific scientific studies, but rather "just sort of appeared" as an arbitrary baseline guideline.

A) It is a reconstruction, and subject to interpretation, and B) A missile can also cause this sort of damage.

Center fuel tank? Didn’t buy that then, don’t buy it now.

You are wise.

Those reports began with “When I heard an explosion, I looked up and saw the smoke trail.”. Which means they couldn’t claim to see anything but a trail that may have been going up or going down.

OK.

No offense, but someone who insists "I saw what I saw" on what he describes as a mental health day isn't going to have a lot of credibility in his recollections.

I have always thought that the 17 July 1996 flight 800 was shot down by Iran from a cargo ship offshore of NY City in retaliation of the mistakenly shoot down of the scheduled passenger flight Iran Air 655 on 3 July 1988 by USS Vincennes in the Persian Gulf.

If that was publicly known, a war with Iran would have to take place. President Clinton certainly did not need that distraction so he came to the conclusion that this shoot down evened the books from the US shoot down of Iran Flight 655.

It was much easier to push hard a fake narrative of the cause of the crash of Flight 800 than a war with Iran.

Really. Every single report started with that phrase. Fascinating.

Well, except for the National Guardsman that saw the missile rise to the craft. And the lady who even had pictures of it.

This cover-up would have been easier to maintain had there been no witnesses. But witnesses were everywhere, and they had to be discredited or dismissed. Thirty-four civilians at various locations along the flight window across Long Island saw the missile rise out of the ocean and intercept Flight 800. After extensive FBI and military debriefings, these thirty-four people were found to be highly credible, too credible to be dismissed as flaky. Each, from a different location, had seen a missile exit zone W-105 and intercept Flight 800. For example, an on-duty Air National Guard pilot saw a missile going from east to west slam into TWA Flight 800. The Air National Guard put out a press release the next day saying only that an unknown object, going from east to west, was seen by the captain. A woman on a boat south of Long Island was taking photos while facing the east. One of the photos shows a missile trail rising out of zone W-105.

Meh. When it comes to things I personally experience, I could give a flying 💩 about my “credibility”; certainly in relation to my use of a slang phrase.

A dear family friend Howard Chartow (RIP) of Center Moriches, NY, told us and the FAA/FBI/Suffolk County PD that he saw a missile FROM HIS BOAT. They never even got back to him. He was perhaps the closest to the source of anyone. He talked about it frequently until his death. He was a very wealthy man who had many businesses, travel and social engagements to occupy his time. But it really burned him up that his own government (he was a Navy veteran) would go to such lengths to lie to us.

The probability of a deliberate attack on Flight 800 with a surface-to-air missile is very small.

The biggest argument against this scenario is that someone looking to shoot down an eastbound flight out of JFK Airport would almost certainly be positioned further west -- closer to the airport -- if they really wanted to do this.

Flight 800 was flying at an altitude that was at or near the limit of most common surface-to-air missiles when the incident occurred. And it was flying several thousand feet lower than usual for trans-Atlantic flights out of JFK, to make way for a northbound flight into Providence, Rhode Island that was running behind schedule on that particular night -- something that would not have been known in advance to someone positioning himself with a surface-to-air missile to shoot down a passenger jet.

Certainly you are aware of ship-mounted missile systems?

Certainly you are aware of the concept of 'target of opportunity'?

Lazamataz wrote: “Sure. So the tail section of the plane lifted from the ground and went up to meet the aircraft, leaving a trail of smoke the entire way up”

Aerodynamics support the zoom/climb.

When the front portion of TWA 800 broke off, the center of gravity shifted dramatically rearward, while the center of pressure shifted forward relative to the new configuration. This severe mismatch created an extreme aerodynamic imbalance that caused the remaining fuselage to pitch upward sharply and climb several thousand feet before stalling and plunging into the ocean.

Here is a detailed breakdown of how these aerodynamic changes altered the aircraft’s flight path:

1. Shift in Center of Gravity (\(CG\))The center of gravity (\(CG\)) is the point where the entire weight of the aircraft is balanced.

The Change: The loss of the nose and cockpit instantly removed a massive amount of weight from the front of the aircraft.

The Result: The aircraft’s \(CG\) instantly shifted drastically backward, moving well behind the center of lift.2. Shift in Center of Pressure (\(CP\))

The center of pressure (\(CP\)), or aerodynamic center, is the point where the total sum of all lifting forces acts on the aircraft.

The Change: Although the physical shape of the remaining wings did not change, the removal of the long forward fuselage drastically reduced the surface area in front of the wings.

The Result: The forward aerodynamic area vanished, meaning the effective center of lift and pressure shifted significantly forward relative to the new, truncated center of gravity.

3. Effect on the Flight PathAn aircraft requires the center of gravity to be located in front of the center of pressure to maintain stable, forward flight. When the \(CG\) suddenly moved behind the \(CP\), it triggered a catastrophic sequence:

Abrupt Pitch-Up: The nose-heavy weight was gone, and the main wings were still producing massive amounts of lift. This created a powerful rotational force (pitching moment) that forced the nose of the remaining fuselage to rotate sharply upward.

The Sudden Climb: Propelled by its massive forward momentum and the remaining thrust from the engines, the wing-and-tail section began a steep, uncontrolled climb. Investigators calculated that the plane climbed from its initial altitude of about \(13,800\text{ feet}\) up to approximately \(15,000\) to \(16,000\text{ feet}\).

The “Smoke Trail”: As the plane pitched up and climbed, it was heavily damaged and leaking massive amounts of aviation fuel. This fuel ignited, leaving a bright, rising streak of fire and smoke in the night sky. This was the exact “missile-like” smoke trail witnessed from the shore.

Stall and Descent: Because the plane was pitching up so steeply, it rapidly lost forward airspeed. Once the kinetic energy was exhausted, the wings stalled (lost the ability to generate lift). The aircraft then rolled over, broke apart further, and plummeted into the Atlantic Ocean.

The missile itself had left tangible evidence of its flight path
through the aircraft in the form of a solid fuel residue deposited
on the seats in rows 17, 18, and 19. It also left a red trail
attached to airplane parts that fell off into the ocean during the
first eight seconds of the plane’s breakup.
