A Tennessee mother shot and killed a man she found hiding under her 13-year-old daughter’s bed, according to cops — and now she’s facing first-degree murder charges.
Kendra Scott was arrested after police found a 20-year-old man dead from a gunshot wound in the back of his head outside her Memphis home just before 2 a.m. Thursday, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by The Post.
Her lawyer called the situation, “the worst nightmare of any parent of a 13-year-old girl.”
The 36-year-old mother told officers she came home and “saw a dude under my kids’ bed.”
“And I did what I had to do,” she said, per the affidavit.
The deadly incident unfolded after Scott’s teen daughter told cops she invited the man, Rodderius Morton, to the family’s home at around 1 a.m., according to the court document and Scott’s lawyer.
An enraged Scott started pounding on the front door and bellowing, “Who’s at my house?!” when she arrived home around 30 minutes later, the affidavit states.
Her unidentified daughter grew terrified when she noticed her mom was allegedly holding a gun.
Scott had said that if she “sees a boy in my house I will put a hole in his ass,” the daughter later told cops, according to the affidavit.
The teen eventually let her mother inside, where Scott allegedly found Morton hiding under her bed, the court doc states.
“Get out of my house bitch,” she allegedly screamed, and followed Morton out the front door.

I read at another source that the guy she killed was 20.
Just noticed that his age is near the top of the story.
I assumed this would be disclosed somewhere in the article, hence the murder charge.
A jury might refuse to find her guilty, but it would be a gamble.
Somebody has to run order in the ‘hood if there will be progress to bring sustainability to get to a just society.
I, for one, believe her.
The story says she shot him after he was out of the house. That make it tough on her. If he’s in the house that’s one thing, but if he’s fleeing the scene and is already outside the house, ouch.
This can’t be the whole story. Marching out of the house? Shot in the back of the head? This is an outline of an event. Not the whole story.
Teen girls have been sneaking men into their houses as long as there have been teen girls, men and houses.
The jury will be made up of mostly black women, half of whom will be thinking, "That could've been my daughter" and the other half thinking, "That could've been my son."
So yeah, it's a gamble.
Maybe it ain’t right but it’s so.

Inside the house clean shoot all the way. Following him outside and shooting him there she should be looking for a temporary insanity plea or a good deal from the prosecutor on a lesser charge.

I’m torn between a momma protecting her 13 year old against a 20 year old man and a 13 year old that invites a 20 year old man into her bedroom.
I’m siding with momma bear, based on the information available.

I’m with you, Red. I would vote to acquit if she’d shot him in the bedroom. But she marched him out and executed him in the front yard. No bueno
