This will leave you sleepless in Seattle.
Seattleites are abuzz over sightings of a deformed raccoon whose truncated backbone gives it the appearance of a creature not of this earth.
The stubby critter, dubbed “Jimothy” by locals, is being tracked online as excited residents share videos of him traversing backyards and balconies in the Emerald City.
“For our 13th anniversary, [we] were graced with the presence of Jimothy the raccoon with short spine syndrome. Praise Jimothy!!” one fan captioned an Instagram video showing him darting along a suburban yard and up a set of stone stairs.
Though he hasn’t been formally diagnosed, the consensus based on his appearance is that he’s afflicted with short spine syndrome, a very rare congenital condition that significantly shortens the spine.

Probably mange
I know a Karen named Jen who we all called Jencifer.
Hey if you were forced to live in Seattle you’d have issues too, so I feel for this poor raccoon
It’s got a truncated spine and looks like one of those cartoon characters who fell of a cliff and got “accordioned” on the ground. No neck at all.
It’s kind of cute and doesn’t look like it’s suffering.
Poor Guy. Assuming the animal is male. he probably can’t find any female Raccoons to mate with. They might reject him because his humpback makes him look different.
He might not be able to hump with a humpback like that.
She sounds lovely.
Seems to be moving around okay. Hopefully he’s not suffering too much.
“... he’s afflicted with short spine syndrome, a very rare congenital condition that significantly shortens the spine.”
0 points for creativity but 10 points for clarity. And thanks to the NY Post for passing on that clarity.
“short spine syndrome, a very rare congenital condition that significantly shortens the spine.”
Wow. I never would’ve guessed what “short spine syndrome” symptoms would be.
Poor Jimothy. I’ll bet Doc Pol could fix him right up in no time.
Most likely.
A racoon with issues? Rabies is probably one of them.
Carl Kolchak is on the case ...
That would be a major inconvenience!
Looks like he's been causing some sort of rachis.
Another clueless idiot who didn't bother watching the video.
Don't worry, you're not alone...........
