A Florida beach erupted into chaos Wednesday when an ultra-low-altitude Blue Angels flyover sent tents, chairs and umbrellas flying into the air — leaving spectators on the shoreline stunned as the jet engines roared just feet above their heads, wild video shows.
The “Breakfast with the Blues” annual flyover — part of the Pensacola Beach Air Show — sent sunbathers into a frenzy as the specialized US Navy jets flew terrifyingly close to the shore — stirring up clouds of sand and sending beach gear airborne, WEAR News reported.
Tents, beach chairs and umbrellas were tossed around by the thrust from the jet’s engines and some of the gear reportedly hit several people, according to videos posted to social media.
The extent of injuries, if any, is unknown at this point.
Despite the chaos, some beachgoers say they will remember the patriotic air display for a long time to come.
The Blue Angels leadership is reviewing the super low flyover.
“The safety of our hometown community, spectators, and our pilots is our highest priority,” a spokesperson for the specialized Navy demonstration group told WEAR News.
“Team leadership is reviewing the circumstances surrounding the maneuver and conducting a thorough safety review to ensure all operations adhere to strict Navy and FAA safety standards,” the statement said.
The Blue Angels have been doing the thrilling flyover at Pensacola Beach for 80 years, according to WEAR News — an annual tradition that draws in large crowds to the shoreline.
The multi-day annual air show sees as many as 250,000 people visit the town each year to catch a glimpse of the action.

Memories were created.
Marriage material right there, boys.
I was at Jax Beach for a Blue Angels flyover many years ago. They flew right down the beach about 100 ft out. It was great!
I’ve seen A-4s lots of times. On 10 December 1966, one of those low-flying muthas dropped 2 250lb bombs right in the middle of my company. In the blink of an eye, we went from 6 Corpsmen to only 2. He and I still talk about that day.
Of course it's awesome but it was 100ft out from the crowd, not directly over their heads.
Yes, not directly overhead.
I think the Navy should just let the crowd vote for any of, say, 6 different actions, ranging from the pilot getting the boot, to an appearance with Trump at the next SOTU. The pilot at their discretion may trade whatever is the highest vote total action for “a tour on a US carrier in the Middle East”.
Everybody on that beach knows. It’s been a thing for decades. used to have a beach house up that way.
“Negative, Ghostrider, the pattern is full!”
“Sending beach gear airborne…”
Whoop de doo, attend some summer art shows where artists set up ten by ten tents and display their stuff. One storm or even a sunny day gust shows up and it becomes really obvious who the amateurs are when their tents take flight.
That sounds fantastic!
One would have to be there to get the full effect.
sheesh, that’s nothing but great entertainment.

Maho Beach, St. Martin.
It was awesome(!) and something you never forget: I still have the “vid” in my mind. :-)
Not being familiar with the event, we didn’t know that pass was going to happen, which made it even better.
You are such a whinny baby.
I heard that and I laughed out loud........
