A Florida beach erupted into chaos Wednesday when an ultra-low-altitude Blue Angels flyover sent tents, chairs and umbrellas flying into the air — leaving spectators on the shoreline stunned as the jet engines roared just feet above their heads, wild video shows.
The “Breakfast with the Blues” annual flyover — part of the Pensacola Beach Air Show — sent sunbathers into a frenzy as the specialized US Navy jets flew terrifyingly close to the shore — stirring up clouds of sand and sending beach gear airborne, WEAR News reported.
Tents, beach chairs and umbrellas were tossed around by the thrust from the jet’s engines and some of the gear reportedly hit several people, according to videos posted to social media.
The extent of injuries, if any, is unknown at this point.
Despite the chaos, some beachgoers say they will remember the patriotic air display for a long time to come.
The Blue Angels leadership is reviewing the super low flyover.
“The safety of our hometown community, spectators, and our pilots is our highest priority,” a spokesperson for the specialized Navy demonstration group told WEAR News.
“Team leadership is reviewing the circumstances surrounding the maneuver and conducting a thorough safety review to ensure all operations adhere to strict Navy and FAA safety standards,” the statement said.
The Blue Angels have been doing the thrilling flyover at Pensacola Beach for 80 years, according to WEAR News — an annual tradition that draws in large crowds to the shoreline.
The multi-day annual air show sees as many as 250,000 people visit the town each year to catch a glimpse of the action.

The sneak pass is supposed to be done behind the crowd, not over the top of them.
I would have enjoyed that.
No one should complain.
Ignore them!!
lol...
Perfect...
Oh, good grief. The biggest effect that can be seen in any of those vids looks like maybe a brief 12 mph breeze. The crowd loved it (tho’ I don’t argue the potential presence of a Karen or two.)
You wanna see a low pass? Come to El Centro for their winter practice.

Fighter pilots are crazy. Dealt with enough of them.
Fun Guys (seriously).
Real close air support with panache!
Well, they have been doing it wrong for years.

It's the flyovers prior to the air show. The dress rehearsal is Friday the 17th and the official air show is on Saturday the 18th.
From the article: "The Blue Angels have been doing the thrilling flyover at Pensacola Beach for 80 years, according to WEAR News — an annual tradition that draws in large crowds to the shoreline."
The pilot needs to be gone from the military by the end of the day. No need for further review. If he commited any crimes then he needs to be held accountable.
Think she would have been fine if 200yds out in the ocean? That is really dumb
“thought we were going to be taken out” pussy NY snowbird.
I was at the St. Louis Riverfront for the 4th of July several years back. Maybe 2007? The usual large crowd had gathered for the fireworks. To kick off the fireworks, at the end of our National Anthem, an Air National Guard F-15 screamed in low, over the crowd, and when it got just past the Arch and over the river (Mississippi River), hit the dual afterburners and pulled up hard, climbing several thousand feet straight up. The approving roar of the crowd was exceeded only by the roar of the plane. :-)
And yet, somehow, this is the first video we have in 80 years of this type of low pass.
what if it was a she?
Are you related to the old lady in San Francisco that claimed the Blues killed her dog and demanded the Navy quit doing fleet week??
As he/she should be.
The Blue Angels are a "Precision Flying Team".
If it wasn't planned it shouldn't have happened.
When a pilot gets it wrong in one of these performances pilots often die.
In this case spectators could have died.
If this was a mistake, it can not be permitted to be repeated.
The beachgoers looked thrilled to me! They would practice for an air show near me and do low flyovers years ago.
I loved it!
“I don’t know...but if I could find the sons of bitches flying those planes, I’d give them each a medal!” Gen. George Patton
I don’t care who it is. Gone.
He can refer to both male and female. It can be a gender neutral term.
