Dennis Quaid lists Brentwood Hills home as actor flees to Tennessee

Dennis Quaid is making his break from California official with the listing of his longtime Brentwood home after relocating full time to Tennessee.

“The Parent Trap” star has listed his 4,100-square-foot manse at 2536 Pesquera Drive in Brentwood Hills for $5.2 million, Realtor.com reported. The actor put the five-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bathroom home on the market nearly a decade after buying it for $3.9 million and completing an extensive renovation of the property

The listing comes just weeks after Quaid publicly criticized California’s taxes, government services and wildfire response, saying those frustrations helped drive his move to Nashville.

“It used to be such a great town and the ’90s was nice. And then it’s been kind of going downhill and I feel like people pay these taxes for no services is what it gets down to,” the Texas native told Fox News last month. “I’m just one of thousands who have left.”

Quaid and his wife, Laura Savoie, have primarily lived in Nashville since 2020 but have held onto the Los Angeles property and traveled between the two states. Now, the listing appears to sever his last major residential tie to California.

Last year’s Palisades fire, which forced Quaid to evacuate his Brentwood home, appears to have been the last straw for him. He participated in the “They Let Us Burn” protests and called on Mayor Karen Bass to retire in the wake of the fires, and went on to support former reality TV star Spencer Pratt in his failed Los Angeles mayoral primary election bid.

One of his earliest lead roles was in Breaking Away (1979), one of my favorite movies.

One of the best films ever made, imho. Quaid was fantastic, as was the entire cast.

I’ve met dozens in 25 years in luxury hotels.

Never had one that seemed nice to be a jerk. Jerks were jerks. Nice ones were nice.

Some you’d think were jerks were actually nice in person.

Biggest diva - Delta Burke and Pointer Sisters. Worse a-hole - Prince. Then Gary Busey and Dave Matthew’s. Totally deranged. We kicked Busey out of the hotel.

Nicest were John Fogerty (I faxxed lyrics for Centerfield for him), Billy Bob Thorton, Jon Bovi and Elton John.

Sweetest was Carole King. A really bad storm came through (1998) with a massive tornado. We lost power. We got guests into the ballroom and fed them cold sandwiches and things. Ms. King played piano for everyone.

Mine too. I rewatch it every few years.

One of my favorite scenes is where the protagonist drafts an 18-wheeler at highway speeds.

It's possible, but you'd have to have a really big front chain ring and a really tiny rear chain ring.

Something doesn’t smell right. I can’t find any mention of a Pesquera Drive anywhere in Tennessee using various online search engines. Nor in the Williamson County (where Brentwood is) property database. Nor of a “Brentwood Hills” city, town, community or neighborhood.

There is, however, a 2536 Pesquera Drive in the Brentwood Hills community of Los Angeles Kommiefornia listed for $5,195,000.

“I loved him in the Reagan movie.”

Me, too. And he loved Reagan, as did his father.

I also thought he did a great job as Jerry Lee Lewis. I never figured out if the movie was serious, or tongue-in-cheek. He’s a good singer.

For a few years I worked at 5-star resort in HI where actors, royalty, etc., stayed.

To me, it seemed that the B list actors/actresses were the most snooty and high maintenance.

The more famous ones, for the most part, were lovely, like Barbara Eden. One big male star sometimes would step in an help us set up for events if we were in time crunch.

That is where it is. Not Brentwood TN. I live 10 miles south of Brentwood TN.

Californicators will spread. Tennessee is getting them. The Carolinas. And Texas are all doomed. It’s just a matter of time unless conservatives get busy and start breeding.

Dennis Quaid, in my limited views of his movies, has always played the good guy...and seems to be a good guy in real life.

He was first married to Meg Ryan...

Ironically enough he could move FROM Brentwood TO Brentwood. (One of the affluent areas of Nashville is a suburb called Brentwood).

You can tell a lot about a persons character by how they treat someone who cannot do anything for them.

My dad taught me to watch for that.

My daughter got a hard lesson in that when she worked at a country club as a waitress for a summer. She is not one to talk bad about people, but one night she came home and told me that these people were a bunch of assholes.

Lesson learned.
