One author thinks she has found the answer.
he Jews and the Left, Batya Ungar-Sargon’s latest book, takes readers through the long history of Jews in American political life, from George Washington’s praise for the Jews to FDR and the Civil Rights movement, concluding with the shock many Americans felt on October 7, when Hamas committed the 21st-century Holocaust that was not universally condemned.
Batya noted, “I wrote the book because the question that I get asked, maybe the most, especially by Christians, conservatives, Republicans, is ‘why do the Jews vote for the Democrats, when the Democrats hate them, and we love them?’”
Although the book ends with the aftermath of October 7, the results of the recent New York and Maine primary elections underscore the book’s relevancy today and are a dramatic postscript. A direct threat to America’s values and ideals is the recently elected Democrat candidates that include Nazis, communists, and antisemites.
Maine Democrat Senate candidate Graham Platner has a chest tattoo of the Totenkopf, the skull-and-crossbones icon adopted by the infamous Nazi SS unit. He retweeted a post that characterized Judaism as a “death cult” and praised the military tactics that Hamas used in 2014 in the horrific execution of five Israeli soldiers.
Batya addresses the Nazi tattoo directly.
The left told people who were not Nazis, “You are Nazis, you are white supremacists. You are evil.” And now they’re lining up behind a guy with an actual Totenkopf tattoo and who knew what it was. And that’s not a deal breaker for them?
In my book, I have this quote that applies: ‘Many in the Democratic Party insist that it is the radical left that has turned on the Jews, not the mainstream of the party. But, few of the Democratic politicians are willing

I apologize.
I realized after I posted that I used “hate” incorrectly.
I’m over here playing defense fast and hard, and didn’t edit before posting.
Sorry about that!
I have read through this thread and your post is the closest to “getting it” but still is not quite there.
The “key” is that there is a real strategy—very human strategy that has its flaws—but it is real.
Jewish people traditionally believed (often with good reason) that the “host” country would expel or even kill them if left to its own devices.
As a result they became very active in civic life at all levels-—as well as focusing on gaining as much influence as possible in the “persuading” professions—public relations, advertising, mass media, entertainment, politics, protest leaders and participants etc.
Their goal (though they often do not fully understand and express it) is to undermine all the values and institutions of the “host” country.
Their perspective is what makes the “host” weaker makes them stronger.
Their goal is to influence the “official narrative” as much as possible.
An example of this philosophy is shown in the discussion in this Wikipedia page (and sources can be checked—it is solid):
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Nation_of_Immigrants
Key quote:
“The book was written by Kennedy in 1958, while he was still a senator. It was written as part of the Anti-Defamation League’s series entitled the One Nation Library.[1] In the 1950s, former ADL National Director Ben Epstein was concerned by rising xenophobia and anti-immigrant rhetoric, so he reached out to then-Senator Kennedy to write a manuscript on immigration reform.”
They are human—and they could be proven wrong.
:)
Eh, they live in urban areas and vote like urban people.
Except NYC, that is, where Jews were the only demographic to overwhelmingly reject Mandami.
And NJ, where they went heavily Trump.
I mainly wonder why anyone wonders why Jews should vote any different from other urban people.
A wonder primarily followed only by wondering why anyone cares, given they are a miniscule portion of the electorate.
I agree with parts of your analysis and disagree with others.
Jews have tended to cozy up to The Powers That Be (those of the Government), in order to not get slaughtered. They do this so badly and regularly, that they were cozied up to the muslim moors in Spain to their eventual detriment when Isabella took over and had the inquisition. That was just the majority getting back at everyone (muslims, Jews, etc.) who had been holding them down. Totally understandable.
I disagree that Jews are looking to undermine things generally. That they cozy up to Government, and the Party of Government (Democrats) is now a destructive force against Western Civilization, is a combination of historic accident, and pure leftism. Not Judaism proper.
We Jews are remarkably competent due to culture and genetics. Wealth and power flow accordingly. Folks notice. Some resent.
The non-Orthodox Jews have voting patterns that reflect their past history of distrusting the political right, even when they are dealing with strongly pro-Israel dispensationalist Protestants, such as Mike Huckabee. They associate the right wing with the regimes of Tsarist Russia, Nazi Germany, and various authoritarian regimes in pre-World War II Europe, such as in Romania and Hungary. Now in the American context, the limited government, pro-civil liberties, and pro-free market philosophies of conservatism are the antithesis of authoritarian government of the "blood and soil" type you saw in pre-1945 Europe. However, they see anti-Zionist and anti-Semitic spokesman, whether of the pre-Pearl Harbor type like Henry Ford, Fr. Charles Coughlin, and Charles Lindbergh or of the contemporary type like Tucker Carlson, Nick Fuentes, and Candace Owens, as the real spirit of the political right. Just as we tend to lump left of center politicians like Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer with more leftist, essentially communist types like Mayor Mandami and AOC, non-Orthodox Jews, and for that matter the non-Jewish liberal, see conservatives like, Ted Cruz and J.D. Vance as soft core versions of Carlson and Fuentes.
“Why Do Jews Keep Voting for Leftists Who Hate Them?”
Why do Conservatives still support Dem voting JOOS?
If you look at the history of every leftist movement you will find many Jewish folks in leadership positions as well as in the trenches.
It is important to note that the attempt is to undermine all institutions and values—not just financial or economic ones.
One less well known example of this was the birth of the Trans revolution.
Here is the guy who started it all:

His life and works were no coincidence.
He knew exactly what he was doing.
But the tribal mentality seems to be a rather honest trait of the Jews, and that trait has kept them going & prospering, even though they were scattered to the four corners of this round earth. The Bible even mentions their return to their won country. Christianity is an offshoot of of the Jewish religion, following the crucification of Christ, and his rising 3 days later, which marks the early beginnings of that offshoot.
There is also a lot of credibility to following in the footsteps of ones father & mothr's held political position. It certainly had an influence on me. Thanks in part to both parents supporting the Republican Party. 😁🤙
But I really didn't start voting until I made up my mind which political party I actually identified with. When I decided that I could never vote for a Democrat, the choice had to be Republican. I don't regret that choice, but I must admit that I haven't been satidifed with that option either. Thus, I decided I had to foment change within that party, because 3rd parties have not historically been a realistic option to adopt, because 3rd parties fail miserably, and bring success to the opposition party be it Republican or Democrat.
Liz’s Rolodex-O-Jew-Hate posts again!
Good one. Appears to have a case of IDS!
Because they fear us more than anyone else period.
And it’s not without some justification historically
And tikkun olam
Improve the world stuff
Which naturally is more congruent with progressive politics than conservatism especially if that group usually likes to keep the host culture in check
There’s always been friction between Jews and their fellow travelers on the left
Any close examination of the “civil rights” movement clearly shows this was very apparent

I would think anti-Christian sentiments among Jews is confined to the Orthodox, especially the ultra-Orthodox. Ironically, this is the one segment of the Jewish population that votes for Republicans. Hasidic Jews in Rockland County, NY, a suburban county in the New York City area, have helped to flip the county from blue to red in 2024. Hasidic Jewish districts in Brooklyn massively rejected Mandami for mayor, even more so than the remaining white, mostly Catholic enclaves in Staten Island and southern Brooklyn.
.....................
Not in my experience. Leftist Jews, Reform Jews (but I repeat myself) Conservative Jews and of course the Orthodox all dislike Christians.
Like I said, I really do not know what the answer is, but several options have been made available, as seeningly logical explanations, but at some point in time you would think that the only option left is to realize that one's reasons may indeed be in error, and that they should start examing their beliefs. 😁🤙
The old agdage; keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. That way you know what the enemy is up to, at leat in theory at any rate. 😁🤙
As you say, it's humans getting committed into a mindset that it becomes hard to change that mindset, regardless of the negative consequences of staying the course.
Thanks for your input. 😁🤙
I’m not here to defend or deny the huge cohort of committed leftists among cultural Jews.
I’m just trying to point out Judaism the religion is not the problem, and there is a substantial minority of us who are committed conservatives.
So let’s not lump all Jews.
I once publicly accused her of maintaining a file of pre formatted indictments of Jews to pull and use in every possible situation.
She did not deny it.
I’ve reviewed her posting history 7 times. Five of those times her anti-Semitic posting rate was well over 50%. Only twice was it in the mid 40% range.
She’s nuts.
Wake me when the USA approaches the ~$40-50 TRILLION dollars we’ve spent on NATO.
A number, btw, that is roughly our national debt.
Such a high rate of intermarriage suggests that many non-Orthodox, particularly Reform, Jews lack animosity towards Gentiles.
