Democrat Senator Chris Coons was hospitalized after a car accident in Sussex County, Delaware, on Sunday.
The Delaware Senator was a passenger in a car that was involved in a multi-car collision.
The nature of his injuries is not clear.
Coons is now home and recovering from his injuries, his office said.
“Earlier today, a Delaware driver experienced a medical incident and collided with several cars, including one in which Senator Coons was a passenger," a statement from Coons' office said.
"Senator Coons was transported to Beebe Hospital and treated for minor injuries," Coons' office said.
"He is now home and expected to make a full and swift recovery," Coons' office said in a statement.
“Senator Coons is deeply grateful to the first responders for their prompt and professional response, including the Lewes Police Department, Lewes and Rehoboth Fire Departments, and Sussex County Emergency Medical Services, as well as the capable doctors and nurses at Beebe Hospital, where he received excellent care," they said.
He feels relieved and blessed that by all accounts no one was seriously injured during the crash,” his office said.

You let in immigrants from all over the world and just give them cars and driver licenses and some bad stuff will happen. For most rich people and politicians who welcome the bad drivers they rarely have to deal with the consequences but every once in a while….. They say it was a “medical episode” but I wonder.
I generally never wish ill upon any man or woman. With any luck, he will have a “Fetterman experience.”
That is good news for his family.
