Over the years, I’ve had many different social media conversations with people who are leftists. Not political conversations (I avoid open social media discussion of politics with leftists), but rather many other topics. I have found a common pattern; they seem to have a remarkable lack of self-esteem, because they often seek only sympathy or praise, and they share an insatiable desire to be miserable. There is no desire to have a conversation or intellectual debate. Although there are many examples, I will limit myself to three (chronologically widely spaced) in this article.
I should preface this with some background; I am a successful engineer who has designed and produced many different complex mechanical products (I have eight patents), whose product longevity ends up being typically longer than prior art. I credit that achievement with an innate understanding of statistical probabilities and the ability to exercise creativity in the industries where I’ve applied it. I thrive on statistics not only in my professional life but also my private life, which sometimes maddens my wife when we play board games, and I spend too much time examining probabilities.
Story #1: When COVID hysteria was headlining social media, I followed much of the hype with great interest, hoping to learn as much as I could about this “novel” virus from available data. While New York City was publicly hailed as the COVID “hot spot,” I examined available data from CDC (as skewed as it was…) and could not confirm it. But my leftist friends were apoplectic about the lack of support and sympathy for all those poor New Yorkers who were dropping dead in the streets. In some of their social media posts, I pointed out how there was an abundant lack of actual data to support that conclusion.

Its been my lifelong observation that almost all leftists have a debilitating, self destructive psychological disorder. My habit is to avoid as much meaningful contact with them as possible and never trust them in any matter of importance.
Leftists are the most loving, inclusive, tolerant people on the face of the earth as long as you completely agree with them otherwise you are a bigoted, homophobic, science denying racist nazi 😎😂
Over the years of listening to young people talk about fairness and equality I’ve come to a realization. In their minds they think the equality touted by socialism/communism means everyone will eventually have the same middle/upper middle-class life that they enjoy. A life earned by the hard work of their parents and grandparents. What they don’t understand is that is not what the Left has in mind. It is much easier to bring them down to the level of the poor than to raise the vast majority of the poor to their level. The result is the same, equality. It’s a point I wish we could get across to more of them before it’s too late.
When humans first realize that life is difficult, they encounter a fork in the road.
One road leads to the assumption of responsibility–personal agency–for how life’s difficulties will be dealt with. This road points inward, into the interior of the person who takes it. This road leads to the development of character, strength, and success by being clever, diligent, and honest with oneself and others.
The other is the road of victimhood and blame. This road points outward to the people and institutions deemed responsible for life’s difficulties. This is the road of perpetual childhood, wounds that never heal, and festering anger outwardly expressed. The person who takes the road of blame transfers his humanity–his agency–to those he blames.
People on the Left take the road of victimhood and blame, and this is why they are doomed to failure.
They seem to HATE the fact that they were even born and reflect that misery on everyone around them.
The party of the perpetually outraged. They go to bed each night praying to molech for so etching to be outraged over the next day

She was complaining about the high cost of housing.
I said that housing prices will go down as we deport the millions of illegals.
She replied that we all are immigrants to the USA.

This is a great thing-American sensibilities and love of freedom and self-determination is being exported. And yet, about 1/3 of the comments are critical of the shooters.
Leftists don’t just demand to be miserable. They demand that YOU be miserable too.
That’s exactly what I think. Their version of reality is in constant conflict with reality, that they can not cope with it.
