A new ban on Glock handguns takes effect in California, starting July 1. The law will, once again, remind Americans why California has become the ultimate legislative laboratory for aggressive gun control.
Firearms dealers across the state will no longer be permitted to sell new Glock handguns or similar models that state lawmakers have aggressively reclassified as a form of machine gun.
The justification behind this radical pivot is that these pistols can supposedly be modified easily with illegal, aftermarket conversion devices that fundamentally alter their rate of fire.
But rather than focusing energy and resources on the criminals who manufacture, distribute or use those illicit conversion switches, California has chosen a completely different route.
The state has decided to restrict future retail access to the Glock, the most popular handgun in America, punishing law-abiding citizens for the actions of criminals. It is the legislative equivalent of banning the Honda Civic because someone used one as a getaway car.
The sheer irony of this legislative maneuver is impossible to ignore.
During the 2024 presidential campaign, former Vice President Kamala Harris publicly boasted about owning a Glock herself for personal protection, even telling interviewers that anyone breaking into her house was going to be shot.
If she still owns it, she’s legally untouchable. Existing owners remain unaffected by the new regulations.

After seeing in 1941 how the NAZIS used gun registration lists to confiscate privately owned firearms in occupied countries, the US Congress passed a resolution to NEVER ALLOW GUN REGISTRATION IN THE US!
And HERE IS how they will do it, one small step at a time.
And to think, in 1962 DEMOCRATS Thomas J Dodd and Emanuel Cellar proposed the first federal law on common firearms.
1962; “We don’t want to take away your guns, we ONLY want to register handguns! Rifles and shotguns will not be affected”.
1964: “We only want to register all your guns, not ban them! Only Army surplus guns will be banned.”
1968: “We only want to register your guns, and ban “Saturday Night Specials” and small foreign handguns along with army surplus rifles!” (They got the ban on 5 shot army surplus rifles and handguns and small foreign pistols)
1970: “We only want to ban Saturday night specials! Large handguns and rifles will not be affected!”
1976: “We only want to ban all handguns! Long guns will not be affected!”
1981: Actress Lee Grant on Good Morning America screams...”THE NRA IS A RIFLE ORGANIZATION! THEY SHOULD GIVE UP THEIR HANDGUNS AND THEY CAN KEEP THEIR RIFLES!”
1984: They came for the rifles....
1989: George Bush bans import of some foreign made “assault rifles”.
1992: Assault rifle ban passed by Clinton. ten years.
2000: first calls to ban single shot .50 cal rifles...
2012 calls for MORE bans on semi auto rifles and handguns. If you can’t ban them then go after ammo limits, the magazines and styles of the stocks.
States that are trying to ban semi- auto rifles are now back after the handguns starting with the Glock.
And so it continues.
In ten years, when the lawsuit finally meanders its way to the Supreme Court ... he may decide to hear it.
Maybe.
If he feels like it ...
Better ban metal than...a gunsmith can make his own gun with the right metals and plastics.
California tried to ban and register handguns back in 1982, Prop 15 by placing it before the VOTERS. It was guaranteed to pass, instead the voters solidly REJECTED IT!

California has NEVER placed a handgun ban before the voters since.
How they got the AW ban law passed the legislature..
They wrote up a real bad gun ban bill and shelved it.
They then created a crisis to get it passed.
Then they released Pat Purdy from a mental institution, allowed him to buy guns over the counter, passing the waiting periods and back ground checks.
In 1989 he went and shot up the Stockton School yard killing several students and himself.
The shelved bill was pulled out and passed before opposition could be mounted against it.
The same gun grabbers who are having uncontrollable orgasms over Charlie Kirk’s assassination and are in love with Luigi Mangione and the Jew hating POS who shot the 2 Israeli Embassy workers in DC
While being POed that Pres Trump survived 3 assassination attempts. This level of arrogant hypocrisy is nothing new and a big reason why the gun control argument ended for me long long ago
In California the average person cannot get a concealed carry permit. Violation of the 2nd amendment. We need constitutional default.
Glocks are the most popular firearm within all law enforcement - on duty and off. Is there a provision addressing them or is it a full ban on everyone?
Interesting that they are banning one brand. There are a lot of others that make similar handguns.
I guess Glock isn’t giving enough protection money to the california democrats.

I certainly hope that Glock refuses to sell to any law enforcement agency in California and refuses service to any agency that uses Glocks.
The law is obviously unconstitutional and will be struck down.
