SAN DIEGO, CA — NASCAR will celebrate Pride month this year by featuring its first all-Subaru race at the Navy 250 in San Diego.
Feeling that being hosted at a Navy base was not quite gay enough, NASCAR officials decided to up the ante by requiring all entrants drive a Subaru station wagon with at least 17 bumper stickers.
"Now that's what I call 'Pride'," said NASCAR CEO Steve O'Donnell. "There will be little sailor outfits, Subarus, and 'It's Raining Men' blasting on the loudspeakers. We're going all in this year. The crews are going to all do the 'YMCA' with every pit stop, and we'll cut the bottoms right off of those leather driver uniforms. Woo Pride!"
In addition to Subaru, several zoos, animal shelters, and hair salons will also be featured as title sponsors. "The fans are going to love seeing 40 Subarus with roof racks doing 87 mph with excellent traction," said NASCAR official Billy Gerken as he prepared for the race. "The hum of that 2.5-liter engine is going to really knock 'em back in their seats. 'Ope! Almost forgot to set out everyone's mandatory 'COEXIST' bumper sticker."
At publishing time, NASCAR had announced that in lieu of the traditional champagne shower, the winner would be doused in bubble bath and handed a bottle of Rosé.

How in hell does an automobile get a gender, or a political label. Before I retired I was driving a 300mi/day commute, thru the mountainous regions of western Maryland and northern West Virginia..... twenty years of that.. and I ran thru seven new Subarus in that time. Put over 140 thou on all of them. They quite literally are the official state car of West Virginia. You’re all being silly. It’s a damned good little car.
In German a car can be either masculine (der Wagen) or neuter (das Auto) depending on which word you use.
“NASCAR Celebrates Pride Month With First All-Subaru Race”
HEY, NOT FAIR!
We have had 4 NEW Subaru Foresters. They were all GREAT cars in every way. Don’t defame Subaru with this “PRIDE” nonsense.
It IS true that far left libtoids drive Volvos, but I have not seen any evidence that Queers habitually drive Subarus.
TAKE IT BACK!
You’re all being silly. It’s a damned good little car.

Agreed... and one has to feel badly for Subaru that someone started that nonsense. On has to wonder how many car sales have been lost because of it...
They targeted them with a marketing campaign in the mid 1990s, and it worked.
Except NYS celebrates Pride in July. So there’s more cr** ahead.
Actually, they started it.
I thought that was FDR.
Supposedly, Subaru was marketing to lesbians sometime (maybe in the 1990s).
Nobody noticed except the gag writers.
Yeah, that. Damm...
And a whole month of black history, a black national anthem, a federal holiday for blacks, mlk day....the fatigue is real.
Ah...it’s the Bee.
For a minute there...
And, yes, I agree with you, V_TWIN.
I had a 1982 GL wagon that I bought for $1200 with 100K miles on it, and drove for 8 years before I sold it for $1000 with 215K miles. Had to replace the water pump and the CV joints during that time, otherwise just routine maintenance.
Great little car. 1.8L, 4-speed, 4WD but not enough ground clearance to do much offroad, good in snow and ice. Not all that fast, of course, but it would get 30-32 mpg at 65 mph forever.
I think we’ve found the new Popemobile.
My Subaru turned 83,000 miles just today. Still feels like a new car. I love it.
Mine was like that but no 4 wheel drive and maybe a 1983 or so that I got used around 1993 or 4, loved it, I started my little plumbing business with that car which felt awkward since I charged the same prices as the biggest company in town, but it got me started.
Not sure you’re joking or not so I’ll explain what I know about it just in case.
The wife and I were nascar fans back in the day when Jeff Gordon drove that car.
The “Rainbow Warrior” nickname came about from the paint scheme on the car to tout how many colors were available from Dupont paints.....which was the teams’ primary sponsor.
The nasty rumor that Gordon and or his team were gay came mostly from fans of other drivers that didn’t like him.....mostly because at that time he was a dominant driver.
ROFL! NASCAR and the Lesbo Limo Race!
Heh - our ‘09 Outback has over 285k on it. It’s biggest problem is a slow leak of power steering fluid.
Well I’ve never seen a lesbian in a crown Vic.
