Late last week, the San Francisco Giants hosted their "Pride Night," with the team wearing hats with a rainbow-colored Giants logo.
Several Giants pitchers, in a statement of their faith, wrote Bible verse designations on their hats. One, starting pitcher Landen Roupp, addressed his reasoning after the game, saying that the verse is about representing "God's covenant."
"It's just about God's covenant and a promise that he makes to us that, you know, his faithfulness and his mercy," Roupp said to reporters. "That's just kind of something I believe in, and I stand firm in that, and I'm thankful we live in a country where, you know, we have the freedom to believe what we want ... and express what we want.
"There's no hate at all. It’s just what I stand for, and what I stand in. I believe in God," he added Naturally, that public expression of Christian faith did not go over well with left-wing sportswriters who criticized Roupp and his teammates. Well, those critics will be overjoyed to hear that Major League Baseball has now officially stepped in.
Per The Athletic, an MLB official has now "warned" those players against violating the rules and writing on their cap.
"The writing on the cap violates our rules, and consistent with normal practice, we have warned the players about future violations," said Pat Courtney, MLB’s chief communications officer, in a statement.

Another reason why I no longer watch professional sports. But if that me, I would tell the MLB overlords to take a hike.
Now is where the rubber meets the road. Who will bow down to Nebuchadnezzar, and which ones will stand like Daniel and honor God?
They ever hear of the 1st amendment?
What if they just wear their hat inside out?
You trade freedom for money.
WHOA!
Baseaball [been berry, berry good to me] is getting WAY outta its lane...
Indeed!
<>Be looking for Landen Roupp jersey sales to go through the roof.
Well Pat, once the league determined that players would wear sodomy symbols on their uniforms, anything goes. There's nothing normal about celebrating perversity.
The First Amendment does not apply to private organizations. Even so, I support the pitchers. Pitchers not perverts!
I moved from central FL to TX three months ago. Tonight was the first night I had the chance to watch the Rays on TV, against the Dodgers. Then I read this, and changed the channel. If America’s pastime won’t allow Christ, it is no longer America’s pastime.
I agree with MLB that players should not write on their caps.
I also agree that players should have the freedom to wear the regular cap rather than the demonic gay hat. Relief pitcher Blake Treinen and outfielder Alex Call on the Dodgers wore the regular cap and rejected the demonic gay cap.
Texas Rangers don’t do Pride Night.
And I don’t do MLB anymore.
There is such thing as religious protection in the workplace. Yes you trade your freedom for money. But not totally.
These men have a good case that their employer cannot require they were symbols supporting a sinful worldview when it is not directly required for them to do what they were hired to do (pitch). I believe they’d win in court.
Now if you are hired as a bartender and then say you can’t serve alcohol cause you are a Mormon that’s different. One cannot reasonably be a bartender and not serve alcohol.
But you can play any position in baseball without wearing a conscience offending emblem on your uniform. Your employer cannot require that you do so, legally.
Wait, so writing a bible verse on your hat is against the rules but glorifying deviant disgusting behavior is totally awesome..gee how come us Jews dont have a “Jewish night” why is it only for the homos that they get a month, where the hell is our month
I pay absolutely no attention to MLB or or other “professional sports” but it seems to me that if certain players insist on gay colors on their hats, that those opposing them have every right to decorate their hats with Bible verses.
I stopped watching MLB during the strike.
Prevert Nights reinforce that decision.
All MLB is being used for is to keep the Caribbeaner refugees employed with a full stomach. Baseball sucks worse that the MFL and the NBA.
