The First Amendment does not apply to private organizations. Even so, I support the pitchers. Pitchers not perverts!

As succinctly stated in post 6, the First Amendment is not applicable in private settings. It's solely a restriction on government action.

MLB is saying you can't put anything on your hats that's not sanctioned by MLB. I can understand that. The players should not be forced to wear something that violates their religious beliefs, though. It's ridiculous that MLB is getting mixed up in this and is a reason I don't pay attention to it anymore.

Tell me again how the First Amendment in any way restricts the actions of PRIVATE individuals or organizations.

Your employer can have rules. Stay or leave if you don’t like them. But they can not have one set of rules for one population and different for another nor discriminate because of religion. If they put something Muslim on hats I’m willing to bet they’d be fine with that
