FAIRFIELD, Calif. (KGO) -- An 18-year-old was killed and three others, including an 11-year-old child, were injured when gunfire erupted at the Fairfield High School parking lot following a graduation ceremony Wednesday evening, police said.
The shooting happened around 7:15 p.m. near Schafer Stadium as the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District was holding a commencement ceremony for Sem Yeto High School.
School officials confirmed the violence broke out just after the event ended, prompting police to declare a "large-scale incident."
The unidentified 18-year-old died at the scene.
Police have not confirmed whether the victim was a student.
Emergency responders transported the three surviving victims - ages 11, 20 and 25 - to area hospitals.
Their medical conditions are unknown at this time.
While investigators stated there is no ongoing threat to the community, no suspects are in custody and no arrests have been announced.

Summers are hot there more ways than one I guess. A good place to be retired military as Travis AFB is there for the category 4 travelers. Don’t know if it’s going on these days and there are not too many bases overseas to go to.

If so that’s another sad incident.
And I’ve heard that in ghetto culture, being “dissed” or disrespected, is a major offense to people. And that the response to being dissed is often violence.
And some people have poor impulse control.
Unfortunately, we’re not allowed to talk about this openly.
We can freely talk about anything here on Free Republic. .But in the larger society, it’s a taboo subject to talk about problems of inner city culture, or ghetto culture.
So many creative names and programs to try and obfuscate the same, repeating, constant-as-the-damned-north-star, problem. All while siphoning money from the taxpayer yet never, ever, solving the problem.
