Glenn Beck is sounding the alarm over Democratic New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s new housing proposal, warning that he's laying the groundwork for expanded government control over private property.
The new “Block by Block” housing plan includes taking aggressive legal action against landlords — and even transferring their properties to the tenants themselves.
“Through our new citywide campaign, Fix the City, we will focus on the worst landlords in New York City. When necessary, we will take aggressive legal action to remove negligent owners and property managers,” Mamdani said in a speech announcing his plan.

This was already done in 1980s NYC when landlords did not take care of their properties. They couldn’t give these properties away since no profit in repairing them and many had back taxes. Landlords burned them down or allowed squatters to burn them to collect insurance.
This was happening so often the city made a deal where tenants or squatters eventually got title to the property if they repaired it up to code and paid back taxes when the landlord did not. In these cases the property was a liability for the landlord so they were often happy to get rid of it.
Many of these squatter buildings are still owned by the same people. Now beautiful and worth millions
This country hasn’t seen a good old fashioned political lynching in a long time and that’s why we currently have the criminal class of politicians that we now have. Let er rip!
If Mick and the guys had anything prophetic about them, that line was it.
Right. Friend’s daughters live in Munich, smart pretty girls in their early 20s. Met them last summer along with a few of their German friends who were enoying living in the summer house on the lake their dad owns.
Not one of them had a clue about the Berlin Wall. Or communism. I was so curious about that, I had actually flown to Germany to take a look. West Berlin was gorgeous, nothing but dirt and hovels on the Russian side.
Stupid New Yorkers should know about that before Mamdammit drops the “r” out of York. (Leaving New “Yoker.”}
And New Yorkers voted for this insanity.
You voted for this madness, NYC, now it’s time to embrace the suck.
Same here.
Obviously.
“in 1980s NYC when landlords did not take care of their properties. “
Those days are certainly long gone. I haven’t been to every part of NYC but I drive through queens and brooklyn a lot. I don’t see any slums, I don’t see an buildings falling down. Mamdani wants to punish “the worst” landlords - why not also punish “the worst” teachers, “the worst” judges, “the worst” politicians. Just steal their property. Put the judges in jail and steal their homes. The NYC politicians are corrupt mobsters, they have done nothing for NYC (since Giuliani anyway). The working people make the city, not these rancid scheming losers who somehow win elections. One of the Central Park rapists is on the City Council.
Unfortunately with rising construction costs and more tenants not paying, abandoned buildings are on the rise in NYC
Post of the day!
The early Dutch farmers (Boers) arrived well ahead of any black population in the area. 300 years of successful farming. The new wave of blacks chants "Kill the Boers". It's not a place that a sane person would hang around.
The animals can’t run the zoo, but at last, the Chinese will buy New York cheap.
