Sir Paul McCartney has finally named an artist he would rank alongside his former band – pop queen Taylor Swift.
In an interview with BBC Radio 2’s Tracks Of My Years, the 83-year-old music veteran expressed his admiration for the American pop singer, describing her as “clever” and a “very good” performer...
He said: “You do see the parallel of the amount of fame and the worldwide fame that Taylor Swift has and that we had [as the Beatles]…
But Swift questioned comparisons with the Beatles during an interview in December.
Stephen Colbert, the host of The Late Show, suggested that the reception to her must have been similar to the rock band, to which she responded: “I don’t know, I think they had a whole thing going.”

“Paul McCartney is senile.”
my first thought as well ...
She’s probably even more Satanic than the Beatles as well.

Yoko is more Satanic.
I think he has her confused with Yoko Ono.
I can’t hum a single Taylor Swift song.
Too much Paul leads to Magical Mystery Tour.

The concept was weird to say the least, but there were some good tunes from it.
ha
I remember the Brit twit was in DC and insulted W when he was president. Im no longer a fan of W but as foreigner you dont do that in a country you’re visiting. He can pound sand with Rod the fudge packer Stewart.
There must be one in her catalogue. Maybe ask Swift for a hummer.
Yep - I would be surprised if the younger crowd is following her now. They prob think she’s a boomer - lol
Again with the inanity. What has happened to Free Republic? Stupid, classless posts are embarrassing. Very disappointing.

Vera, Chuck and Dave?
I’m due for a Swift hummer.
Elliot Mintz, Johns Publicist during the late 1970s talked about John meeting or communicating with some famous Christian pastors and having an interest in Christianity. Oral Roberts being one of them.
Supposedly Yoko squashed any information on this after Johns death. Don’t know any details, but can easily believe the part about Yoko.
John was the type to keep searching and looking for answers and truth. Not something Paul likely would ever do, he’s comfortable right where he is.
I don't either, but in 1970 there were probably a lot of 76-year-olds who didn't know a single Beatles song either.
I said his solo career "largely" sucks. I admit there are a couple of gems in there.
