Sir Paul McCartney has finally named an artist he would rank alongside his former band – pop queen Taylor Swift.
In an interview with BBC Radio 2’s Tracks Of My Years, the 83-year-old music veteran expressed his admiration for the American pop singer, describing her as “clever” and a “very good” performer...
He said: “You do see the parallel of the amount of fame and the worldwide fame that Taylor Swift has and that we had [as the Beatles]…
But Swift questioned comparisons with the Beatles during an interview in December.
Stephen Colbert, the host of The Late Show, suggested that the reception to her must have been similar to the rock band, to which she responded: “I don’t know, I think they had a whole thing going.”

He’s just trying to be nice.
Except I don’t know a single Taylor Swift song.
Always thought he was the most talented of the four, but the least cerebral.
He’s always tried to stay “current” by doing things like duets with Michael Jackson.
LOL!
Um...no.
McCartney is a douche bag and his solo work largely sucks. That said, the Beatles are insurmountable. Their music is still everywhere nearly sixty years after they broke up and will likely still be relevant for decades to come. Swift will be little more than a footnote decades from now.
I guess when you've lived the life he has, developing a fetish isn't the worst thing that can happen to you.
Is Swift famous? Sure. But she is lightyears away from the Beatles musically, and I’m not even a Beatles fan.
And they both had/have teen girls hysterically crying at their concerts. LOL
Go ahead Paul.....say she’s more popular than Jesus and see what happens......again.
I didn’t believe that about Paul until Phil Collins told this story:
Phil Collins, a lifelong Beatles fan, approached McCartney backstage to ask for an autograph on a first-edition book about the band. According to Collins, McCartney turned to his then-wife, Heather Mills, and patronizingly said, “Oh, Heather, our little Phil’s a bit of a Beatles fan.”
Collins deeply internalized this exchange, feeling as though McCartney was making him feel small or like a star-struck novice despite Collins’ own massive global success.
Collins remained resentful for years, later calling McCartney arrogant and publicly noting that McCartney has a habit of making people feel like it’s a privilege to be in his presence.
I actually tried to listen to one of her songs on YouTube. She can hardly sing. I don’t get it.
No way.
Actually, his solo artist catalog contains some spectacular music. Taylor Swift music pales in every way. Paul’s comparison is laughable!
Go ahead Paul.....say she’s more popular than Jesus and see what happens......again.
“God never had a hit record.”

Difference between “big as” and “good as”. Just sayin’. 😊👍🎸
I didn’t care about the Beetles while they together. Over the years though I’ve come to appreciate just how good that band was . Taylor Swift? Don’t think so.
