NASCAR legend Kyle Busch died of severe pneumonia leading to sepsis, according to his family.

“The medical evaluation provided to the Busch Family concluded that severe pneumonia progressed into sepsis, resulting in rapid and overwhelming associated complications,” the Busch family said.

Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch passed away on Thursday.

He was 41 years old.

Earlier Thursday, the Busch family released a statement on Kyle Bushch’s deteriorating health:

“Kyle has experienced a severe illness resulting in hospitalization. He is currently undergoing treatment and will not compete in any of his scheduled activities this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. We ask for understanding and privacy as our family navigates this situation,” the Busch family said Thursday morning.

On Thursday afternoon, NASCAR announced that Kyle Busch had passed away.

According to the Associated Press, Kyle Busch was found unresponsive in a racing simulator in Concord, North Carolina, the day before he died.

The 911 call revealed Kyle Busch was coughing up blood before he passed away.

“I’ve got an individual that’s shortness of breath, very hot, thinks he’s going to pass out and is producing a little bit of blood — coughing up some blood,” the 911 caller said.

Sepsis, these days, usually means provider-provided death. Someone wanted him dead.

My brother had sepsis. Nobody wanted him dead. He survived.

He probably waited too long to see a doctor, and tried to tough it out, thinking it was just a cold or flu...................

My father had sepsis. The private investigator I hired discovered that the provider had him killed at the wife's suggestion and persuasion.

Oh come on.

Pneumonia itself creeps up on people all the time. They ignore it like it’s just a virus they’re having trouble with.

Happened with my hubby.

And too many people get caught with sepsis likewise, whether it’s from pneumonia or other issues.

You can’t give someone sepsis.

Pneumonia doesn’t usually come on its own. It’s usually opportunistic and piggybacks on other infections.

I still think they better find out if there’s any hantavirus involved. That can be important to the whole possible issue that has arisen, and if anyone else can get it.

Sepsis is simply an infection. It is absolutely one of the easiest things a provider can give to a patient.

Holy cow! I’m so sorry to hear that. Please don’t take offense, but that would make an interesting lifetime movie, but I deeply deeply send my deepest condolences. That’s just awful.

One doesn’t catch sepsis. It is a body’s immune system overreacting.

With pneumonia it can be the bacteria getting into the bloodstream.

Same thing Jim Henson (Muppets creator) died of. Pneumonia, unlucky to be a bad strain of it, and can progress to sepsis all through the blood quickly. Henson was in his 50s; thought he had a bad cold. By the time he realized he needed care and called a taxi to go to a hospital, he was declining fast. H e was unconscious by the time he arrived there by taxi and never regained it. Organs shut down from the by products of the bacteria when the antibiotics tried to eliminate it. taps playing.
