A wild brawl broke out at an Ohio kindergarten graduation after a woman was accused of taking up too many seats and blocking other parents' views on their children's big day.
Craig Mays, one of the parents attending the Thursday morning ceremony at Queen of Apostles School, said the fight started when a separate family grabbed their own chairs and began creating their own seating space.
That made his daughter's mother unable to see, causing the confrontation to escalate with 28–year–old Jessica Anderson, who was seated just behind them at the ceremony in Toledo, about 240 miles north of Columbus, near the border with Michigan.
'The girl behind me she's just talking, just cussing, talking crazy,' Mays told WTVG. 'Calling us weird and saying we need to mind our business.'
After a brief argument, Mays said Anderson's family of ten – five men and five women in the first two rows – suddenly attacked them.
'I literally don't remember anything,' Mays said. 'I just know I was sucker punched.'
Mays said a group of four or five men began kicking him in the head when he was on the ground, prompting his daughter's mother to intervene and begin fighting with Anderson.
'She grabbed my kid's mom by her hair, pulled her away from me, started punching her face then maybe five or six other girls came and trampled her and were just stomping her, kicking her in the face,' Mays added.

Lack of civilization..............
For a lot of these kids Kindergarten is the only graduation they will see.
More than a bit of a dignity FAIL on *that* day!
In urban areas, it is a huge thing
Didn’t go to my college graduation either. Tried to get out of going to the high school ceremony and my teachers convinced me that they could withhold my diploma if I didn’t show up. I was so gullible.
A woman at work around age 30 took her little son to play in his first Little League game. A woman there came up to her and said “You’re new here. I just want you to know you can sit over with me if you want. If you sit in the first rows close to the field you’ll have no chance of having any enjoyment of the game.”
Turns out she was still close enough to hear some of the extremely personal and vivid physical threats and profane attacks on the umpires and the other mostly fathers. Yes, a couple of fistfights happened at the first game.
I’m 68 - just 3 years older - and the only graduation was from high school, my senior year. I did not attend kindergarten; went directly in the 1st grade before I turned six. We had elementary schools - grades one through six. Went directly to junior high - grades seven through nine - with no graduation. Middle school was not conceived of back then. Did 3 years of senior high school - grades ten through twelve. Only after finishing my senior year was there a graduation. Holding graduation from kindergarten, from elementary school, from middle school, is bravo sierra.
Some schools have an 8th grade graduation because that is officially leaving Grade School. My Junior High did not have this but I’d heard of it.
Where to begin with this story....
Our whole country has become one giant Jerry Springer Show.
RE: hair pulling brawl...
“Worse than Detroit. You knew a fight was going to break out. You just didn’t know when.”

They laughed harder when Clinton gave them our computer, space, and nuclear technology.
Nothing says bloodbath more than an inner city kindergarten graduation ceremony.
It’s the only graduation many of them will ever have.
RE: May be their only graduation....
City of Chicago as an example:
Douglass Academy High School: Recorded reading proficiency on the 11th-grade SAT, with 80% of students scoring in the lowest possible category.
Dyett High School: Reports roughly 2% of students reading at grade level.
Fenger Academy High School: Reports 0%
proficiency for Black students in English Language Arts.
Hirsch Metropolitan High School: Reports 0%

Collins Academy High School: Reports 0%

Chicago Excel Academy High School: Reports 9%
proficiency in English Language Arts.
Dunbar Vocational High School: Reports 0%

—According to Illinoispolicy.org
Kid: But half the kids left grade school in the juvenile offender system.
Mom: That's a different meaning to "leaving".
Their skin might have been one color but their spirits another.
You are not wrong. It is a Catholic school.
Yep. You can even purchase a gown with a doctorate hood for your kindergarten graduate.
“Since when did kindergarten graduation become a thing? I’m 65 and didn’t have a graduation. The only graduation we had was 8th and 12th grade.”
We didn’t have 8th grade/Jr High graduation. But the school my older brother and sister went to did. I felt like I totally got gipped.
It’s funny how you remember these perceived slights even 55 years later.
Do you think “white folks” who are behaving politely are going to influence “everyone else” to behave politely?
