The Heart Attack Grill, the over-the-top Las Vegas restaurant known for its calorie-loaded "Bypass Burgers" and hospital-themed servers, announced this week it will close its Sin City doors.
The restaurant was founded by Jon Basso in Chandler, Arizona, in 2005. It relocated to downtown Las Vegas in 2011.
It's most known for its unapologetically indulgent menu — including massive burgers, fries cooked in pure lard, even unfiltered cigarettes.

You want to be spanked for not finishing your food?
Vegas is dying.....Good riddance.
I didn’t know H.A.G. was still operating at all.
I thought they had been sued by somebody blaming the restaurant for their own medical problems that seemed to follow regular patronage of this eatery. That was the rumor a few years ago.
Hope springs eternal.
It’s a fun idea, and will very likely resurface elsewhere, maybe under a slightly different name.
yup
Old Vegas is pretty fun to visit but “online gambling” and casinos all over the country kind of stole Vega’s thunder.
Plus I guess they started to really nickel and dime guests which would turn off a lot of people.
Well, I had “Fatburger” on mine. It’s still there, and I’m going in June.
The one in Phoenix is still open.
with the app “Polymarket,” I can bet on anything in the world from my phone. Took me less than a minute to make an acct. I can bet on a box match in Malaysia, or I can bet on what the weather is going to be like in Miami tomorrow. Don’t need to fly to the crappy desert and pay $75 for a buffet per person.
Three-card-Monte is likely more entertaining live and in person 👍
Last time I was in Vegas I walked by it, but I was on my way to meet some friends on Fremont. Dang, I guess.
The Coronary Café
I’ve eaten there a few times.
Their fries were to die for...
(70 and still kickin’)
I went there once.
Frankly, the food was not very good, and the theme was kind of embarrassing.
You are not missing too much.
Cooked in lard? Never tried. In fact, never knew of a joint that did this.
Good call. And DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, and Hard Rock Bet; the inconveniences and costs of travel; and having Karen Bass and Gavin Newsom burn down a whole city that was less than a day’s drive away from the place...
