A Man Of Memes @RickyDoggin Flashback: 911 operator hung up on a mother who called three times because her child wasn’t breathing. Later, police walked up to the console and arrested the operator. “Ma’am, step away from the console.” “Excuse me, I’m working.” “We need you to come with us.” “What is this about?” “You’re being arrested for hanging up on emergency callers.” “For what? I didn’t do anything.” “A mother called 911 three times because her child stopped breathing. You hung up on her three times.” “I just didn’t feel like working.” “You disconnected multiple emergency calls instead of sending help.” “You’re arresting me for that?” “Yes ma’am. Turn around and place your hands behind your back.” Investigators say the operator intentionally disconnected hundreds of emergency calls, including reports of robberies, assaults, and medical emergencies. In one case, a mother reportedly called three times about her child not breathing, but the calls were disconnected before help could be dispatched. The child later died. People dial 911 expecting life-saving help. Instead, some callers were allegedly hung up on. Image

It was Crenshanda Williams in Texas and it really happened. She actually hung up on more people than noted in this post.
Thanks for the info. I wonder the X post omitted the operator’s name. Maybe they were afraid of a lawsuit.
Anyway, I remain deeply skeptical. Just not of that particular post.
🙂
Notice that the post mentions neither the name of the operator nor the city where she worked.
Conclusion: There is a very high chance that the post fake.
No. I remember when it happened. It’s an old news story for some reason being recycled on social media.
NO WORDS
Diversity is our strength!
A dindonutin.
“Because it saves time when they arrive on scene to know what type of apparatus they’ll need.”
The age would not determine that under the circumstances.
A clear description of the scene and my circumstances was given to the 911 caller, and my age made no matter in those circumstances. What the EMT crew needed was evident regardless of my age.
What if you don’t know how old the person needing help is? Just send someone is right. The age can be sorted out by the time the rescuers get there.
She should have been charged with murder, for that poor child who wasn't breathing, and probably a dozen others.
How about you say it’s a child or an adult or an elderly person. Close enough?
Most 911 jobs will be taken over by AI soon.
Grok is already doing customer service at Tesla very well.
Yeah.
Oh Dear Lord we have more problems than we realized and if we keep letting people off for these despicable behaviors we won’t ever get to a point of a society worth living in again!!!
Something here doesn’t make sense. Where was the supervisor? How could she have hung up on 100s of emergency calls?
We really need to know the full story.
Need I ask Yogi?
I was going to ask Yogi, then linked to the pic.
Sigh, didn’t have to waste the click.
This was real. Saw the police body cam video and also interviews with mom whose baby died.
Recently, I was walking in town and some dude was incoherent and Nazi saluting, “Heil Hitler”. I called 911 and told them it was in the center of town (one railroad depot, one traffic light.
The 911 operator had to have the address. She insisted she had to have the address.
All I wanted was for the police to find him for a wellness check. He was not violent, but out of it.
Makes me wonder if I did the right thing.
The police never found him but they were polite and professional, unlike the 911 operator.
Probably, with the perhaps the addition of (apparent, sigh) sex.
