Last December, a Georgia woman sustained severe burns to her face, neck, and scalp after a stranger emerged from the bushes at a Forsyth park and doused her in acid.
According to law enforcement, a black male approached the victim, Ashley Wasielewski, while she was walking around Forsyth Park and hurled acid at her.
The suspect, who is still at large, approached the victim from behind and poured the liquid chemical on her.
Wasielewski suffered third-degree burns and received treatment at Memorial Hospital in Augusta.
According to police, the attacker was not known to the victim.
“I walk around this park a lot, even at night,” Wasielewski told WJCL. “You just don’t expect something like this to happen here.”
Police previously released a photo of the attacker and asked the public for help.
Anyone with information should call CrimeStoppers, 912-234-2020, or submit an anonymous tip through the SPD mobile app.
Savannah Mayor Van Johnson, a black man, has repeatedly suggested Wasielewski knew her attacker and called it a "personal thing."
The statements from Mayor Johnson rightfully angered Wasielewski and her family.

To those opinionated people who know nothing, victim had emerged from her church.
He followed her and doused her with an industrial strength acid which melted her clothing.
Acid attacks are common Muslim tactics in sub Sharan Africa.
Savannah is one of the busiest ports on the Atlantic coast . . .

I don’t see how 2+2=4 with this story. Whether she knew her attacker or it was a complete stranger, how does the Mayor of Savannah saying it was a personal thing (who knows?) make it better or worse for anyone? This reads like a story looking to make a racial angle where there isn’t one. Sure, he may be talking crap, but I don’t see where calling him out as being black adds “color” (pun intended) to the story. Dems downplay crime all the time. Unless there’s another article that suggested that this was racially motivated, I don’t see the connection.
I don’t think his comments do anything to get this crime solved, sure, but I can’t see them as racially motivated based on the “facts” in the article.

And what he did was not merely a selfish violent crime indifferent to he personhood, dignity, humanity, her eternal soul and her status as an image bearer of Almigjty God. What he did was a public, terroristic act of torture and civil war that begs for us to hunt him down and kill him in spite and in violation of our own byzantine, laborious, lagubrious unjust and rotten justice and political systems.
