From the team that brought you “Why is Snow White Latina?,” “Why are there Black people in ‘The Rings of Power?,’” and “Star Wars has gone woke,” comes the latest online onslaught against an anticipated Hollywood project that committed the unfathomable sin of having a diverse cast.
In recent days, Twitter trolls have formed a phalanx and pointed their sarissas squarely at “The Odyssey,” Christopher Nolan’s $250 million adaptation of Homer’s epic scheduled to hit cinemas July 17. They have not actually seen the film yet, mind you, but have nevertheless managed to work themselves into a lather over a pair of castings (though Page’s character isn’t even confirmed yet): Elliot Page as Achilles’ Ghost and Lupita Nyong’o as Helen of Troy.

Matt Damon was born to play Nelson Mandela.
I generally like Nolan’s movies but this just looks boring
They race swapped Michael Jackson too. Guy was white for most of his adult life.
With Danny DeVito as Desmond Tutu.
I like accuracy and don’t give a horse’s rear end about diversity.
This movie is a joke.
It may entertain some Hollywood groupies who slobber over the cast, but will be another modern woke clown show for blockheads.
Perhaps releasing all of those clips is why people can rightly surmise this is a waste of 250 million before it ever hits the big screen.
Even the praised Nolan can bomb when kowtowing to the woke dopes. It is a formula for failure on and off screen.
Would Marlow Stern be O.K. with a White man playing Martin Luther King?
what it comes down to is— it doesn’t look like something that I would want to go see so they won’t be getting my money. Usually how I go, so goes the rest of the world. So I don’t see this being a big blockbuster.
You mean Achilles is not a chick pretending to be a dude? Color me shocked. //sarc. (I am not shocked at all. I am in constant amazement on how Hollywood intentionally shoots itself in the foot. )
I know nothing yet of the movie, but when I see that “Variety” defends it with such silly prose, I now know that I won’t be interested in it.
“the unfathomable sin of having a diverse cast.”
Oh piss off jackass.
You’ll see what happens when this turd craters like an asteroid hitting the moon....and you can stick your condescending attempt at White guilt right up your ass.
Replace a black character with a White people and see what happens.
Anyone who goes to see this movie is supporting cultural genocide of whites and our heritage. Anyone who pays money to support it should be banned from FR and everywhere else
I give this Lupita/ Odyssey controversy a 5 Star rating. No way will I be paying to see this pos.
I don’t know if Marlow Stern is, but he looks like someone’s buttboy.
Variety, that’s quite the Meghan Markle-esque clapback.
Well done, Mr. Musk!
Nolan is fishing for another Oscar.........
For anyone wondering about Variety’s hysterics...

Nuff said, eh?
He literally can’t get one without DEI.
He’s not fishing.
He’s a$$-kissing.
Get off your knees, Nolan.
They cast a biological female as Achilles.
“...comes the latest online onslaught against an anticipated Hollywood project that committed the unfathomable sin of having a diverse cast.”
I appreciate the heads up.
