Eric Clapton cut short a concert in Madrid last week after someone in the audience threw an object that struck him in the chest, several news outlets report.
Mr. Clapton had just finished performing โCocaineโ at the Movistar Arena last Thursday when someone hurled what appeared to be a vinyl record sleeve.
The Clapton fan club Whereโs Eric! said the incident occurred during the famed guitarist/songwriterโs first appearance in Madrid in 25 years.
Mr. Clapton, 81, was not seriously injured and went on to perform in Barcelona on Sunday.

I guess this has become a “thing” in Europe.....from an article I posted yesterday:
“Similar incidents have involved Billie Eilish, Nick Jonas, Kelsea Ballerini and Bebe Rexha, the latter suffering a black eye after being struck by a phone during a show. Many artists have publicly criticized the trend, arguing that throwing items onstage is not harmless fan behavior but a genuine safety issue.”
Gone are the days when the only thing thrown on stage were doobies by the dudes and bras and panties by the chicks. ๐
Has not accumulated enough wealth for a few lifetimes or is this just a vanity tour ; can’t quit playing to a audience- because of vanitu?
There are many like this
We had a country entertainer here hit with a beer can at a local festival a couple years back...........
Country singer Dustin Lynch was struck in the face by a full beer can while performing at the 38th Annual Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival in Niceville, Florida, on October 17, 2014. The incident left him with a cut below his eye that required stitches.

The world is turning into that roadhouse from The Blues Brothers.
The world is turning into that roadhouse from “From Dusk Till Dawn,”...............
Just keep playing the Rawhide theme song
And hotel keys! I miss the good old days.
” I miss the good old days.”
Agreed.
And in the spirit of the post, I miss being able to walk up to a ticket window at a venue and pay cash for a ticket to a show instead of having to go through a money grubbing online ticket outlet.
Last time I did that, two $62 tickets ended up costing $200!
That’s criminal as far as I’m concerned.
“There are many like this”
It’s not vanity.
It’s all they know.
When they feel the urge to “be productive”, they perform.
When I feel the urge to be productive, I mow the lawn.
Best wishes to Eric Clapner.
Jocelyn Elders is deeply saddened...............
Spain is a mess. Not a lot written about it, but I have a son stationed there and the culture is collapsing. They might be the most socialist/marxist country in the EU right now.
Was thinking a combo with the Star Wars bar scene
There’s plenty of demand for Clapton. I’d pay to see him, within reason. Then again, I’ve recently paid to see Three Dog Night, America, and Peter Frampton—all great shows!

There is a history of blues, jazz and now rock musicians continuing to play as they get old. They love playing and it is just what they do.
Eric is 81 with lots of health issues including neuropathy in his hands and legs. With his history of drug addiction earlier in life it is amazing he can stand and play at all. I wish him well.
Pablo Casals played into his 90s, Picasso was painting until his death at 91. Itโs what these people do and do well.
Sooner or later someone will have a live bat thrown on stage.
“Spain is a mess.”
You bet it is.
Spain now considers itself “ post Christian”.
Godless is no way to go through life.
My church now has a ministry there attempting to plant churches all over the country.
An associate Pastor that had just come back from Spain recently shared a story about his group from our church walking up to an outdoor cafe to order lunch. When the proprietor discovered they were a Christian group, not only did he refuse to serve them he went as far as shutting the ordering window and closing the place down until they left.
That is truly the ultimate enemy at work as far as I’m concerned.
