The answer to the question in the headline is obviously no — it is impossible that any of us could hate Communism as much as we should. Unless you were a Chilean helicopter pilot back in the day, perhaps, you could almost certainly use a booster shot for your anti-Communism.

Is this clear enough? Too many of our Republican friends dismiss Bass as a dimwitted clown, dangerous only because of her incompetence. However, Bass has held positions of major influence, and was among the finalists in Biden’s search for a VP pick in 2020. It was when she was under consideration for that choice that her early involvement in the Venceremos Brigade attracted critical scrutiny:
In the mid-1970s, California Congresswoman Karen Bass, who is now under consideration to be Joe Biden’s running mate, was an organizer for the Venceremos Brigade, according to several contemporaneous media accounts and an interview with the future congresswoman published in a 1996 Ph.D. dissertation. The brigade organized six-week work trips for American leftists of all tendencies who wanted to visit and support Cuba . . . An event blurb in an October 1975 issue of the communist Daily World newspaper describes Bass, then 22, as “leader of the Venceremos Brigade in southern California.” Bass herself explained her work for the brigade to a doctoral candidate working on a 1996 Ph.D. dissertation submitted to the Fielding Institute, titled “Women Activists of Diverse Backgrounds: A Qualitative Study of Perceived Influences and Values.” “Another critical influence for Bass began, at age 19, and spanned the next five years: Cuba,” reads the document, written by Dawn Noggle, who is currently the director of mental health services for the Maricopa County correctional system. “As a ‘brigadista’ and then organizer for the Venceremos Brigades, Karen visited Cuba every 6 months.”
If the Daily World considered you a comrade? Yeah. And if you study more about the Venceremos Brigade, you realize that this group is what we may call terrorist-adjacent: The infamous Susan Rosenberg traveled to Cuba with the Venceremos Brigade in 1976.
In case you don’t know, Susan Rosenberg was part of the Weather Underground faction calling itself the May 19th Communist Organization (M19), which perpetrated the murderous 1981 Brinks robbery and bombed the U.S. Capitol in 1983. Violent hatred of America is what the Venceremos Brigade was really all about and yet, somehow, Karen Bass’s years of membership did not disqualify her from being elected to Congress and then becoming mayor of Los Angeles?
You may hate Communism as much as I do — which, nevertheless, is not enough — but there is clearly a larger problem: In the post-Cold War era, too many Americans don’t even realize that Communism is still an active danger, and therefore are willing to vote for radicals like Karen Bass. People need to beware of the existential threat of the Red Menace.

More information about Karen Bass and her associates. You can bet that this was all viewed as career enhancing by 0bama and Biden.
If you have ever seen it first hand, probably don’t see any value in it’s presence. I saw it with out having to live it but quickly decided it wasn’t for me.

I try not to get angry, but I remember that at one time I had a hunting license for communists. It was like an elk tag. It was only good in a particular region and only for a particular time, but at least there was no bag limit. Now at times though, I keep hoping a new one will show up in the mail.

I went to the first three grades of elementary school on Naha Air Force base in Okinawa while my Dad flew missions into Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. He saw first hand what communism is and how brutal and tyrannical it is, and he imparted that to me from an early age.
Taking what is produced by the productive segments of society and “re-distributing” it to the unproductive segments and to the overlords, will always necessarily be coercive and tyrannical. Communism is the ultimate anti-liberty. Anyone who tries to say otherwise is a fool or a liar (or both).
You can bet that this was all viewed as career enhancing by 0bama and the people who were running Biden.

I recently read the communist manifesto again. I hadn’t looked at it since I was in college 42 years ago.
The book was written at the onset of the Industrial Revolution in Europe. There was a ton of economic disruption—and it was just starting. Compare that time to where we are headed with Artificial Intelligence. You could re-write that book today and just change out some of the “labels” and it would really hit home with a lot of people today.
It’s a dangerous game they want to play. And if the right doesn’t do a better job attacking the points that are going to be made we might have to spend the next forty years beating back “communism” once more. How many tens of millions of lives will that take this time?
You cannot despise communism enough.
IMHO the prevalence of political candidates wh are Communists in the US should be FRONT AND CENTER in this cycle's political ads.
Like the Moose Limbs, Communists embrace murder, theft, and (possibly, worst of all) lying as pillars of their philosophy.
Thus either philosophy is inimical, even toxic to Americanism and conservatism.
There is no possibility to 'Coexist' as the bumper sticker says.
Logically it is not possible.
What IS possible is: education of us normals to this, separation, exclusion, deportation, trials for treason and subversion, de-naturalization, and transportation out of the US.
We have been soft on both toxic movements for too long.

Yep. I was stationed in the ROK in the mid 90's, near the DMZ. In the Inchon museum they had materials that had been smuggled out by defectors. Some were elementary school books with math problems (and graphic cartoons) like, "If you capture five American soldiers and kill two of them, how may do you have left?"
It's a demonic ideology.

We need a stronger word than merely “hate”.
Unfortunately, this is true. My first encounter with someone like this was at the U of Chicago. She was a self-satisfied pseudo-intellectual who talked about how wonderful Marxism could be if instituted the correct way. I don’t think she considered for a minute that even if instituted exactly how Marx envisioned it, Marxism / Communism would steal human individuality, self-determinism, freedom, and ultimately kill the soul.
Over the years I’ve encountered many, many more, but there is an element in all that is very similar. They include the self-identified ‘intellectuals’ who equate anything outside of the American mainstream as intellectual and superior. They are very self-satisfied, very dogmatic, and highly critical and intolerant of anyone who doesn’t embrace their ‘superior’ view of how life should be.
