On Wednesday’s Morning Joe, Jim VandeHei urged Americans to “sober up” from hyperpartisan excess and exercise “self-restraint” in their political language. Mika Brzezinski agreed: “really good point.” We asked whether Joe Scarborough would follow that advice.
It took one day to get the answer.
On Thursday’s show, Scarborough skipped the sobering up and went straight for the 151-proof stuff. Reacting to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, he lamented that “a child is allowed to hold that position,” calling him an “immature child” who “doesn’t even understand,” before escalating to “a punk—a little punk.”
Turning to President Trump, Scarborough defended calling him “a fascist” and using “fascist rhetoric.”
So much for “self-restraint.”

Hegseth meeting with Mahmood Kalaf Ahmed, the mayor of Samarra, in 2005
After graduating from Princeton in 2003, Hegseth was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Army through the university’s Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program.[20][32] He briefly worked as an equity-markets analyst at Bear Stearns.[27] Hegseth completed his basic training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Georgia, in 2004,[25] and for 11 months he was a Minnesota Army National Guardsman at Guantanamo Bay detention camp.[32] There, he led a platoon of soldiers from the New Jersey Army National Guard[26] guarding detainees.[27] By July 2005, he had returned to Bear Stearns;[32] shortly thereafter, he volunteered in the Iraq War as an infantry officer,[25] where he received a Bronze Star Medal.[27] Hegseth served in the 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment[26] in the 101st Airborne Division, led by Colonel Michael D. Steele.[33] He began his tour in Baghdad before moving to Samarra,[20] where he served as a civil affairs officer,[34] working with the city council and forming an alliance with council member Asaad Ali Yaseen.[20] Hegseth has described a near-death experience in Iraq in which a rocket-propelled grenade hit his vehicle but failed to detonate.[35]
Second Lieutenant Hegseth at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in the early 2000s
In 2010, Hegseth deployed with the Minnesota Army National Guard as a counterinsurgency instructor.[20] He volunteered to teach at the Counterinsurgency Training Center in Kabul, Afghanistan, for eight months,[20] during the withdrawal of United States troops from Afghanistan;[33] he taught one of the final classes at the school.[26] After completing his tour in 2014, he was promoted to major[27] and assigned to the Individual Ready Reserve.[25] Through the reserve, he joined the District of Columbia Army National Guard in June 2019 as a traditional drilling service member, remaining in duty until March 2021.[36] He was barred from serving on duty at the inauguration of Joe Biden after a guardsman flagged Hegseth as an “insider threat”, noting a tattoo on his biceps of the words Deus vult.[37] He left the Individual Ready Reserve in January 2024, writing in his book The War on Warriors (2024) that he resigned over the incident.[38]

Was he talking to a mirror?
He was, as usual.
Mr. Hate From the PMSsnowflake Morning Hate Show.
It won’t have much impact since no one outside of the studio heard him say it.
I wonder if Lori Klausutis agrees? I just wish once some guest would drop her name in the middle of one of his rants.
