The U.S. blockade of Iranian ports will continue, and the ceasefire with Iran will be extended, President Donald Trump said Tuesday, citing "serious fractures” within the Iranian regime.
“Based on the fact that the government of Iran is seriously fractured, not unexpectedly so, and, upon the request of Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan, we have been asked to hold our attack on the country of Iran until such time as their leaders and representatives can come up with a unified proposal,” Trump said in a post shared on Truth Social.
“I have therefore directed our military to continue the blockade and, in all other respects, remain ready and able, and will therefore extend the ceasefire until such time as their proposal is submitted and discussions are concluded, one way or the other,” he added.

It's this continuing war that creates refugees. Ending all hostilities now would cease creating more refugees.
Another week of this foreign entanglement, another ceasefire, another black eye on America’s credibility. Trump is neither respected, nor feared. Iran continues to laugh at him.
The longer this on again, off again nonsense continues... The weaker America looks. The optics aren’t very good. Trump should’ve just bombed the hell out of them to begin with.
I don’t think they will ever agree to a deal so why not starve them for awhile. We can always start bombing at any time.
Trump is in a bind. If he remains down he’ll on their infrastructure, 93 million people will die. He wants to save the their electrical grid for their survival, and refineries for their economy. His mistake was making threats that he knows he cannot back up with deeds.
I agree, I think the embargo is doing a lot of damage. What I don’t understand is why PDJT repeatedly sets firm deadlines with ominous consequences, then extends them. It’s hard to imagine that the Islamic lunatics take them seriously at this point, even if perhaps they should.
hitting a disorganized Iran now might inadvertently rally factions around the flag or create power vacuums that spawn even more unpredictable actors. Fractured leadership means Tehran is less capable of delivering on any deal or sustaining a fight. Giving them time to “unify” (or fail to) forces them to reveal their hand while the blockade does the heavy lifting. If they fracture further, the regime could implode or offer bigger concessions without the U.S. firing another shot.
So, the president has granted Iran unlimited authority to decide the length of the ceasefire.
So, just like Vietnam they have been given an unlimited period to restore their military capabilities.
I am sure the Iranian “experts” at the State Department have concluded the regime is in a desperate situation and must negotiate a responsible agreement to abandon nuclear aspirations and the terrorism that would jeopardize economic activity in the Perian Gulf.
Why does has reference to past behavior have no relevance to current actions? How about Obama’s deal?

Because they cannot ship their oil, the Iranians are running out of room to store the oil they pump. When they do they have to stop pumping and water will begin to invade their wells. He is destroying their oil income and their economy with this blockade. We do not have to send our soldiers to die, the Iranian people will hopefully start to revolt, and we will track their efforts to remove debris from around their missile storage facuilities and know when to strike when we do resume bombing.
This also puts pressure on China, which relies on Iranian oil A twofer!
