The U.S. blockade of Iranian ports will continue, and the ceasefire with Iran will be extended, President Donald Trump said Tuesday, citing "serious fractures” within the Iranian regime.
“Based on the fact that the government of Iran is seriously fractured, not unexpectedly so, and, upon the request of Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan, we have been asked to hold our attack on the country of Iran until such time as their leaders and representatives can come up with a unified proposal,” Trump said in a post shared on Truth Social.
“I have therefore directed our military to continue the blockade and, in all other respects, remain ready and able, and will therefore extend the ceasefire until such time as their proposal is submitted and discussions are concluded, one way or the other,” he added.

Our Gulf allies are suffering from the closure of the strait. They are losing revenue as well. The Iranians are playing the good cop, bad cop hustle. The bottom line is they are delaying to see who blinks first. Hopefully, Trump will not let this go on for too long.
By the way, the Iranian regime announced it is not accepting the extension of the ceasefire.
I LOVE Fractured Fairy Tales! And Dudley Do-right and Mr. Peabody’s Improbable History and Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale.
Regarding this, the umpteenth extension of a ceasefire, what comes to mind is the back-and-forth that Rocky and Bullwinkle would do before every segment. In one such segment, Bullwinkle announces he has a magic trick and Rocky groans, “Not again!”
When Bullwinkle reaches into his top hat to pull out a rabbit, instead the head of a roaring lion appears.
Bullwinkle turns to Rocky, shrugs, and says, “Next time for sure!”
That’s where we are in these revolving ceasefires: Next time for sure!
“ And one last thing I would add is even though most of the world would like to see regime change”
How do you know that?
I think most of the world doesn’t GAF about who runs Iran.
Only vessels going to/from Iranian ports are stopped.
Yer right.
Only the few people in the world who have a problem with over 40,000 peaceful protesters being executed. And the virgins raped first, since it’s unlawful in Islam to execute a virgin.
I’m wondering if that applies to males as well as females. It would give the folks like Mojtaba (if he was able to do such things any more) lots of young male bodies to have fun with.
But as you said, most of the world doesn’t care about such things. Just a few of us “crazies” do.
I agree. And I think Artesh is what needs to finally defend the homeland. They have not been hit at all. Only the IRGC. Trump & co have spared Artesh for a reason, and I’m praying they understand what that reason is, and live up to it, for the sake of their people.
But almost no ships are going thru the strait because the Iranian regime is preventing it.
As of mid-April 2026, transit through the Strait of Hormuz has dropped by over 95%, with only a small trickle of ships passing. Approximately 279 ships transited between late February and mid-April 2026, compared to a pre-war average of over 100-120 per day. Traffic remains severely restricted, with only 45 ships reported passing after April 8.
Based on the level of discourse in this thread.....that was quite sufficient.
Won’t hear it from me. This is a “fluid” situation, and clearly the cards need to be close to the chest. There is greater knowledge from our sources (human and digital and a lot else) to be making any but reasonable questions of what is being done. So we’ll have to wait for after action information- by very brave US warriors, not being commanded by a clown like Xiden or Obamaumao (the grifter payola to Iran, king obungo of Musleem Brudderhood).
I really, really hope you're right. The thing is, one cannot rationalize with the mohammedan. They are either true believers who will gladly fast track their way to 72 virgins, or just plain evil people who perhaps don't believe in any metaphysical afterlife, but see a giant religious club that not only allows them to rape women, goats, camels, and kill Jews with impunity, but actively encourages it. It is a cult of psychopaths.
Peace talks do not work with such an adversary. They never have. Only brute force and elimination can cure the disease that is islam.
Does the same thing happen to the oil fields of the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman?
It is a good thing if it reflects widening divisions within the clique running Iran. Maybe the blockade will do as much financial damage as the bombing, the divisions in Iran will continue to fracture and the the clique implode, giving the people of Iran a chance to tip the balance against the mullahs. Maybe. We can only hope.
Yes, the IRGC’s terroristic threats still make it dangerous.
So far the Houthis haven’t blocked the Red Sea, unless I missed it. That means Saudi Arabia can still get oil out.
It would obviously be better if this was all ended. But it’s just a matter of time now, because the storage for iranian oil is running out and then they will have to shut down oil wells, which will cause them to be ruined. The IRGC is watching their last dollars go up in smoke with each hour they let pass with the blockade still in place.
This is creating pressure on Artesh, the regular army. Will they finally rise up and destroy the IRGC before the IRGC takes all of Iran and her people out with them?
Here’s praying they will. The writing is on the wall.
Saudi Arabia has a pipeline and the Red Sea for an alternate route. I’m not sure about the other ones, but if we are able to provide safe passage it could mitigate the risk.
“Based on the level of discourse in this thread.....that was quite sufficient.”
Point taken. Yep
Typical left wing lunatic to call names of someone who disagrees with your views. Expected.
The carrier is no big deal. The USAF is not using a carrier. They’re using the Gulf States’ bases. Those Warthogs and and Blackhawks aren’t taking off from carriers.
I hope you are correct.
i agree
i think he wants to see if the blockade forces their hand
i am good with a siege
TACO Tuesday strikes again. This just as the hardline IRGC announces it has taken over the Iranian Government, commensurate with them, their families and hoards of supply trucks entering various hardened underground sites where US bombs cannot touch them - prepared to wait it out for years.
