According to Johnson “there is seriously something wrong with Trump.”

We are not going to nuke Iran in preference to putting enough boots on the ground to dig the mullahs out of their hidey holes. Nor have we hit Iran’s electrical grid, cratered every runway in the country, or hit its oil infrastructure. We can finish the Iranian regime any time we want. Trump has been unwilling to squeeze the trigger, but going nuclear would be the worst possible way to proceed.
If Trump started ranting about nuking Iran, everyone in the room would have protested.
If he persisted, he would likely trigger the cabinet to intervene under the 25th Amendment, because that would be patent crazy man talk.
Since J.D. Vance is not currently the Acting President, I don[t think this happened.
If the cabinet is so full of sycophants that it failed to act, I doubt that the military would obey such an order.

I speculated at the time that President Trump could very well have been the prime NYT source for that article.

At most maybe Trump asked about using nukes in the context of a possible Iranian attempt to assemble a bomb using their enriched uranium or building a dirty bomb, etc. But the implication that Trump was asking to nuke Iran is simply ludicrous.
I think you are about a decade and a half or more behind the times on this.
I have no idea who this Johnson fellow is, but anyone who has been paying the least attention the past month and more and who is not a cultist can see that Trump has been acting seriously deranged. That doesn’t mean those of us recognizing this are going to start voting Democrat, but it’s a serious problem that needs to be acknowledged and addressed.
