Gerardo Aldana is a professor at University of California, Santa Barbara. Our Living Lands producer Daniel Spaulding spoke to Aldana about Mayan astronomy, Mesoamerican culture, and the importance of Indigenous knowledge.
“If we think of Indigenous cultures and their approaches, especially Mesoamerican cultures and their approaches to astronomy, it wasn't to transform and control nature,” Aldana said. “It was to find ways to open up dialogues with nature so that now your engagement with your environment can be a productive and a healthy one.”

Yes . That is what they believed.
Dialogue with nature. If one believes nature talks with them, one is paranoid.Very primitive. Very human. Easily leads to all types of deadly behaviours.
Attractive to drug addicts, people with mental disorders, and people who gave up logic in algebra class in 7th grade.
Probably 1/4 of American population.
Lots of bizarre professors at major universities. They could cut out 1/2 of classes at major universities and do ok.
Maybe, but after the Boomers came Gen X, then the Millennials (sometimes called Gen Y), so Gen Z was the natural next step.

That certain Zodiac signs are signals for great calamity/changes on Earth.
.....
At Passover these days, the sun is traveling through the ‘2 Fish’.
Not coincidentally, the New Testament speaks of 2 Fish and 5 loaves used to feed a multitude, and the theme of being fishers of men is also a New Testament theme.
And when Israel is camping outside for Tabernacles in the Fall, it’ll be the Woman clothed with the sun.
Not coincidentally, that too is found in the New Testament.
The signs that come next are also referenced in the New Testament.
Not sure believers in the New Testament want to be all that up to speed on what God is saying in His Creation, at His (not theirs) appointments.
Some ain’t got no time for that kind of nonsense.
Why was Gen Z defined as birth 1997-2012?
Kinda like the "Noble Savage crap. They were brutal warriors that oddly attained a good grasp of astronomy.
These "so said scientists just make crap up and shape it politically. They tell lies.
It amazes me that the same rulers who pulled strings of jaguar teeth through their tongues also funded the astronomers for decades on end, over many generations.
Or else the astronomer/mathematician caste monetized their services in some other way.
What a complete load of bilge. Leftists can’t help stoking the virtues of dead inferior cultures.
You object to the fact Mayans didn’t glorify gays and have transgender surgery on minors?
Not according to this:

(It’s Wiki, but they do get things right occasionally)
Maybe in decline, but certainly there was contact and conflict with conquistadors.
Imagine wearing steel body armor in that heat and humidity… wonder how many Spaniards died from heatstroke…not to mention malaria and other jungle diseases.
I object to the fact that leftists glorify dead, inferior cultures. Many years ago I was forced to take an Anthropology class in college. 1 assignment was to watch a documentary called “A poor man shames us all” it was a grimy, extremely poor, teeth rotting out of their heads, barely surviving culture and the main subject. A guy who even though had very little, was overall a generally optimistic person who loved his culture.
We “shamed” people of the modern western culture were obviously supposed to feel guilt over what we have versus what he had.
That kind of crap. That’s the crap I take umbrage with.
