Birthright Citizenship: American Sovereignty Dangling By a Thread in the Supreme Court
The Post Email Newspaper ^ | 12 Apr 2026 | Alan Wall

(Apr. 12, 2026) — The news is full of foreign policy crises, scandals, conflicts, and trends in all directions.

However, a current case before the U.S. Supreme Court tops it all.

It’s the birthright citizenship case, which determines the future of our nation and what sort of country it will be.

Does the U.S. have sovereignty to confer its own citizenship, or does anyone from any point on the globe have the right to take it from us? Are we an autonomous nation or a colony of the world?

Under current policy, any child born on U.S. soil to a foreign mother (regardless of her citizenship or legal status) becomes an American citizen for life.

A female illegal alien can cross the border and give birth to a child five minutes later. That baby is now a U.S. citizen, with the eventual right to vote and bring in more foreign relatives.

It’s not just illegal aliens — well-off foreigners come to the U.S. on tourist visas, birth offspring, then return home with dual citizens.

Decades later, that child can return and claim all the benefits of U.S. citizenship.

It’s insane and the policy must be abolished.

In Mexico, where I resided for many years, U.S. citizenship is seen as a valuable possession.

But this is not because they want to convert from being Mexicans to being Americans — it’s so they can reap the benefits of U.S. citizenship, while remaining “Mexican.” ... continue reading at: https://www.thepostemail.com/2026/04/12/birthright-citizenship-american-sovereignty-dangling-by-a-thread-in-the-supreme-court/

Dual-citizenship should be abolished along with birthright citizenship for children born in the USA of tourists and illegal aliens.

This is a matter for Congress, not the Judiciary.

The Supreme Court will uphold birthright citizenship... So don’t waste your breath waiting for them to subvert the constitution.

The majority conservative members of the current court support and even enhance the constitution... What they never do is crap on it.

Effing demonicRATS would challenge that the sky is blue if they thought it could destroy America.

Is this U.S. Senate candidate an example of an Anchor Baby, born in the USA and raised in a foreign country, and with dual-citizenship and questionable allegiance to the USA: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abdul_El-Sayed

If the SC uphold this stupid idea then shut the borders.

NO ONE gets in. No tourists, no foreign students, etc.

Or NO pregnant women.

This court has indicated a tendency to sometimes follow the constitution as it was formulated (”originalist” instead of
“revisionary” readings).
So, the court may well toss “birthright citizenship” out the door.

On the other hand, there are several reliable hard-core leftist, communist type votes. And, a couple of more mainstream justices who are nevertheless squishy on upholding the constitution.

So while I am confident on the constitution I am not confident on the court right now.

One thing is could do is punt the matter to Congress....?

Immigration?
1) Deport, not allow entry to anyone who gives aid & comfort to terrorists, the enemy.
2) Deport, not allow entry to murderers, rapists....DUI, Drunk n Disorderly
3) Deport, not allow entry to welfare parasites...To even apply for benefits, grants, loans, etc is reason to be kept out.
To be in the US is a PRIVILEGE, not a RIGHT. Remove the PRIVILEGE.

The Great Replacement has been the law of the land for decades. I don’t expect the Supreme Court to do the right thing here. They will continue purposely misinterpreted the obvious meaning of the 14th amendment to make sure Whites are replaced by 3rd wolders

Agree.

The pre-17th Amendment Congress didn’t punt difficult matters.

Reelection and reelection alone motivates today’s Congress-persons.

If they support anchor babies, they are not conservatives.
More than likely, Libertarian or Democrat, either way RINO.

Either way, I can see how this might get screwed up every way possible, but I prefer “qualified” citizenship, not automatic.

Laws are not created in a vacuum. They are used to address situations as they arise. The 14th amendment was passed to address the aftermath of the abolishment of slavery. Amending the Constitution is a long, arduous process and wasn’t done to confer citizenship on those born here to undocumented individuals seeking a fresh start. Their presence helped settle the frontier and they weren’t a burden to society. But freed slaves needed to be legitimized as citizens since they did not come to America of their own free will. The current revulsion to illegals rests on the shoulders of the Supreme Court who has ruled that they must be counted as residents, politically, they must be cared for medically and their children must be educated, etc. Add in blue state benefits, welfare, and they now have more benefits than citizens, often while not working. It’s time to remove the honey pot from the grifters.

If the conservatives on supreme court don’t get rid of birthright citizenship, 20 years from now, what will their great grandchildren think of them?

Birthright citizenship isn’t a right. See post #35 here:
