Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu were booed by fans at the Red Sox home opener Friday.
The two Democrat politicians took the field at Fenway Park before Friday's game against the San Diego Padres for a pregame ceremony.
And the 36,000-plus fans in attendance showered the Democrats with relentless boos.
Footage of the booing went viral on social media, providing a boasting opportunity for Massachusetts' GOP gubernatorial hopefuls.
One of those candidates, Brian Shortsleeve, said in an X video, "Hey, everybody, coming to you from Fenway Park. Here’s a quick update: It’s a beautiful afternoon. The Red Sox are up by one. Maura Healey and Michelle Wu just got booed very loudly."
In another post, he wrote, "It was even louder in person!"
Another candidate, Mike Minogue, posted a video of Healey and Wu being booed, writing, "Looks like fans want someone else up to bat."

Bet the Democrat activists here are not amused, lol.
I’m glad the two A$$holes were booed. Americans are sick of having Communist politicians shove them around.
If this ticks them off, then this out to make them incandescent...

Great optics. That’s an encouragement.
Free speech.
GREAT!
As a lifelong MA resident, I will not claim that MA is a Conservative state. It’s not. But I maintain that it is not quite as Liberal as it appears to be. I think we have massive voter fraud in MA, like in most states. With honest elections in MA, you would see a steep decline in votes for people like Healey and Wu and Warren and the rest. They are not likeable people.
They are PURE EVIL!!
They weren’t saying boo they were saying wu
Those are voters and dems haven’t cared about them for decades. Doners are a different story.
How do these people keep winning elections?
Yet they will easily get reelected. Some things I’ll never understand.
Neither were the voting machines.
I voted. With my feet. Took my toys and left. F them. They get what they deserve.

36k to an MLB home opener? The Savannah Bananas sell out 90k seat stadiums and have a waiting list.
I agree with you. And it has been that way for decades. My dad ran for State Representative years ago, and had to run as a Democrat because there was absolutely no chance he could win as a Republican.
And my dad was no Democrat. He was a plank owner in Citizens for Limited Taxation back in the Seventies.
They have rigged the system here, like what they are trying to do openly in Virginia.
If they were going wu wu, it would sound like Indians fans from Cleveland. Some of my inlaws are still having problems admitting they know who the Guardians are.
That’s what happens when you elect raggedy ass. “Handmaids”. They are real skanky.
Fenway park only holds 36K.
It is the oldest MLB park.
Opened in 1912.
Wrigley is two years newer and even smaller.
Fenway was even smaller until about twenty years ago.
The owners added several thousand seats and the most fundamental change was adding more bathrooms.
Prior to the remodel if you needed to go you would miss the next inning waiting inline to piss in a stainless steel through that was installed before WW1.
The ladies room lines were even worse.
Fenway is on the list of historical public landmarks.
It is like visiting a museum.
