Americans would be ‘up at night worrying’ if they knew the truth about alien life, Tennessee Rep. Tim Burchett says
New York Post ^ | 4-3-26 | Richard Pollina

Posted on 04/04/2026 4:29:16 AM PDT by MarlonRando

Burchett — a member of the House Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets — recalled that he was briefed two weeks ago “on an issue” about extraterrestrial life that “would have set the Earth” on fire and “unglued” the country if released.

When Finnerty played a clip of former Rep. Matt Gaetz alleging knowledge of alien-human hybrid breeding programs, Burchett stopped short of directly addressing the explosive claims. “I’m still a member of Congress, so I can’t really comment too much on what Matt said,” Burchett told Finnerty.

“Wait, seriously?” Finnerty slightly pushed back.

“I’m being 100% serious,” Burchett replied.

Paid service? Which one?

I have used a bunch. Currently I have Perplexity Pro free for a year because we have Samsung phones. If this “special” is still available next year, I will sign my wife up for it and get another free year. Perplexity is an aggregator meaning you can choose from several “paid” providers. Currently you can choose, Sonar, GPT 5.4, Gemini 3. Pro, Claude Sonnet 4.6, and Nemotron 3 Super.

Then I have the Google AI Pro Plan with Gemini 3.1 Pro from Google for $2 a month for 3 months going to $19.99 a month in May. It comes with 5TB of Google Drive space, Nano Banana/Google 3 Flash Image, for creating images, Veo, for creating videos, and Lyra 3 for creating music and Gemini Live, a real-time conversational mode available on mobile for natural, back-and-forth dialogue...

I also pay $4 a month for a year on a half price 12-month special for the Suno Music generation service.

In addition to that I have APIs for basically every major paid AI supplier that I use with my Hostinger KVM4 VPS running OpenWebUI on top of Ollama.

I had a $300 credit that I was using Google Cloud Platform for 3 months. I spent most of the credit on very capable VMS with nVidea GPUs with 24GBs of video memory. This allowed me to run video generating models with such as LTX on ComfyUI at about twice the speed of my fairly capable AI server. Now that the credit has expired, I may lease even more powerful machines from Vast.ai or other similar providers. This is typically the least expensive way to generate lengthy 1080P or 4K videos. A VM with a powerful processor with 64GB of RAM and 24GB of VRAM is about $.30 an hour only for the time that you are using it. Comparable local computers with similar Specs used to be fairly reasonable, but with the price of RAM going up several times and the price of GPUs more than doubling it is considerably cheaper to rent this capability.

There are some assumptions that are safe to make. Eg. If you step off a tall building you will fall. Assumption, but I suspect you won’t test it. Energy of a moving object E=1/2mV2 should work anywhere in the universe. Light speed is the absolute speed limit for things moving through space. Etc.

Really then why were sailors terrified of falling over the edge of the world?

They weren't. Sailors, more then anyone else, knew the earth was round. Because they had eyes.

Even maps of the time showed it.

No, they showed unknown territory at the edges of the maps.

The common people thought that, while the elite may have known better.

And 23 million people in the US think chocolate milk comes from brown cows. Does not mean that the "common people think that" just that every age has a certain quantity of stupid people. And the elites were the ones making maps.

Pick an argument and stick to it.

Which is why medieval Europe assumed the world was flat ...

Which is why they did not.

Last I read is that something like that would take the mass energy of Jupiter.

There are lots of things that the Bible doesn’t mention, but they exist.

My own observation is that God seems to have filled every space with Life of some form - there are even forms of life in environments so inhospitable that humans couldn’t survive there.

I don’t believe a creative force as unlimited as God appears to be would have stopped with this one little blue planet. And I think it’s preposterous for ignorant little creatures like us to assume we understand God’s ways or to set limits on what God may have done.

(And to quote Carl Sagan, “if it’s just us, it seems like an awful waste of space.”)

Yep.

Or here be monsters.

It just meant that beyond that point they did not know and goodness knows the sea has a bunch of monsters in it.

It is sort of like, "they never sailed out of sight of land". Yeah, they did. Kind of had to. Or they never would have reached the islands they did.

Most people seem to get their history from movies. And movies are rarely accurate.

I don’t know which of us is correct in our beliefs, and it really doesn’t matter much, at least to me. I think... rather than worry about the threats or possibilities of ET/alien life coming to earth for whatever reasons... we should focus on the threats that we know, for shock-sure, exist right here, right now. And those threats are much scarier (at least to me) than any so-called ET from another planet.

I also suspect that the real threat to our lives and our souls by the ‘powers and principalities’ (the demons) are creating and using this “ET” mania as a distraction. That it seems to be working for them is what bothers me.

Ephesians 6:12
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

I’ve always had a fascination about ufos ever since i was a kid and was a believer from the very beginning.

But it was my own sighting that helped to cement my beliefs.

I was sitting in my bedroom on a hot summer night. I was watching a dvd of the movie sling blade. I had no air conditioning at that time,so my windows were wide open.

I just happened to turn my head and looked out the window. A UFO arose in the distance over the horizon. And it was flying, rather floating or gliding, straight for me. It flew over the houses very closely and i could see that it was way bigger than the houses it was flying over.

It wasnt speeding. It was rather very slow moving which gave me ample time to study it. As it got close to me, i could see mostly the underside of it. The craft was triangular shaped. Underneath were multi colored triangular lights. A triangle light inside a triangle light inside a triangle light. They werent all lit up at the same time. Rather, only one triangle would light up, then it would go out and the next triangle light would go on.

The ufo, as it was getting over me and my house, the thing was gigantic. About 2 or 3 times bigger than my house. It finally went out of my sight as it continued its journey over my roof. It never made a sound the entire time. If i hadnt looked out the window, i never would have known it was even there.

There was absolutely no way i could have mistaken a helicopter or a low flying plane for it. No way.

Well, I don’t believe in ‘demons’.

I don’t believe ET is visiting us, but I believe he’s Out There; and thinking about it fascinates me.

So, you don’t believe God’s word, the Bible. I see signs all around us every day that confirm God’s word. To each their own, though.

I believe profoundly in an intelligent First Cause behind the Universe - God.

I don’t take everything in the Bible literally.

I have absolutely no worries about this. It’s just a fraud to generate money for organizations pushing this idea. If there are any UFO, it just means they are unidentified. Nothing more, and nothing less.
