EVEN BY HIS chaotic standards, Donald Trump has just presided over an unusually wild week in his misguided war on Iran. The president had threatened imminent, punitive bombing of Iran’s civilian energy infrastructure. Though Iran didn’t quail, markets did. So a U-turn followed. Mr Trump said he had become aware of secret proposals for peace talks, and held off.

The Economist is anti American and anti Trump. Do not believe what they publish.
Achieved nothing? Really? If you want to completely lose credibility for an article, put that in the headline. I am the first to admit that the war has challenges and is entering a phase where progress is hard to see and that the military needs to pivot to continue making progress, but the idea that there has been no progress over the past month is so divorced from reality that its laughable.
Overly pessimistic and showing their bias.
If Biden had had the balls to take on Iran this way, and all conditions on the war today were the same, the Economist would be singing a different tune.
Ugh. Thanks for the laugh. I am laughing. The economist is a real publication. I guess they’re liberal but this is like a joke
I am laughing
Just tell the American Left that Persians are the original Aryans and Caucasians, and they are being out-bred in Iran by the cousin-marrying, Arab and Pakistani-Baluchi minorities.
They’ll support bombing Iran until the country ceases to exist, like Rhodesia.
Iran status:
All navy ships sunk, every single one
All military planes burned out.
All munitions manufacturing plants bombed out.
10,000 military targets destroyed.
All Iran has left are small drones.
Iran is no longer a serious threat to neighbors.
Amazing how biased and/or dumb some publications (writers) are and how their bias keeps them from having any intellectual honesty or reasoning ability.
When did China purchase the Economist? /S
“EVEN BY HIS chaotic standards...”
Stopped reading right there.
This seems like Walter Cronkite. The communists in Vietname had one last chance — The Tet Offensive. It did not go well for them. They lost. They had nothing left. And then Cronkite goes on TV and tells America that we have lost the war.
Iran is conscripting 12-year-olds. And the big takeaway is that America has lost the war?
If we see this for what it really is, it means we’ve won. Big Time.
The Economist is a Rothschild/London controlled publication
It hates/fears Trump, and it does not want to see this node in its network (Iran) be taken down.
The Economist hasn’t been serious for decades. They have psychotic hatred Israel. They constantly simp for islamists. It’s as natural to them as breathing air to be rah-rah cheerleaders for the Islamo-Nazi regime and its henchlings.
^^^^This^^^^
The Economist should be called the GloBullist.
So silly. They’re holding out for fellow Trump haters to buy that the Iranian fight to the death teenagers shooting at our guys will overcome our firepower and Trump’s will to take out this menacing regime
“Achieved nothing?”
We’ve created WWII levels of rubble.
But examine for a minute the political goals going in:
- Elimination of Iran’s ability to project power outside its borders.
- Elimination of Iran’s nuclear program, and ideally, capture of the nuke material or its neutralization.
Mixed results.
The war must continue until these are achieved or it was all for naught.
And what Skwor said.
Why publish it here.
