I just ordered home heating oil...
FIVE TWENTY-NINE A GALLON.
I have (2) 330 gallon tanks. I thought I'd order 200 at 4.65 to tide me over until the price goes down, but today it is FIVE TWENTY-NINE.
So I ordered the miserable 100 gallon minimum instead of paying over a thousand for 200 gallons.
I love Trump, but this is unsustainable, and there should be no reason it is happening with the amount of oil we are producing domestically.
I am P!SSED!
If you have some snide insulting comment for me, blast away, but if you do that I promise I will FLAME YOU until I get put into timeout!

It’s not a snide remark but there is a military action going on that is affecting the worldwide price of fuel oil right now.
Why do you suppose the republicans have been losing almost every single special election that has been taking place lately?
We are supposed to be a net exporter of oil.
So, stop exporting!
Because people do not understand the history of what is happening and they cannot see past the end of their noses.
Let’s stay this last 6 months, then Iran collapses and is no longer a threat.
Quick, do that math, would it be better to pay $5 for 6 months and then $2 forever, or would it be better to pay $3.50 forever?
Not to mention the budget savings we’ll have by not constantly spending $$$$$ on low grade simmering threat of Iran.
Destroying the threat of Iran is a solid business investment, if that’s all you worry about.
How many gallons do you use in a typical year?
I’m expecting Trump to put a ban on exporting oil, or at least ask the oil execs to trim down exports. I’m not a fan of yet more govt intervention in the market. But I can see Trump doing it, and I might support it.

This is pure profiteering and nothing more. Never in a war has oil spiked like it has this go. This is just another run at the Trumpster because they hate him so badly that they will inflict pain and agony on the masses. If you cannot see this basic fact then you need to reassess your priorities.
Not that it’s easy to keep up with, but the cost was higher in 2022. Hopefully this Iran/Hormuz thing gets taken care of in short order.

I once heard that nothing anyone says before the word BUT really counts. With regards to high prices at the moment, there will be times of feast and times of famine. Prepare when the harvest is good and the winters are easy knowing the good times, or the bad, never last.
From what I understand, problem with heating oil/diesel fuel is refinery production, not supply. This is also true with gasoline, but to a lesser degree. I guess it’s actually supposed to be easier to refine diesel than it is gasoline, but I was told they just don’t produce enough of it.
15-20 years ago, diesel used to be quite a bit cheaper than gas.
Wherever you are...it was a lot higher under Biden.
