"For decades, reintroducing grizzlies to California seemed unrealistic. Now, California lawmakers are considering a plan that could relocate Yellowstone grizzlies there. One skeptic says, "I don’t think it’s feasible. There’s 40 million people in California."

Environmentalists WANT humans killed or run out of the forests. Preferably killed. Their literature is full of it. Except of course environmentalists themselves are exempt because of their superior beliefs. The Sierra Club leads the pack of snobby ecofreaks.

All I can say is that there’s not 40 million Californians in the Sierra Nevada mountain range. There’s plenty of room for grizzlies in the California mountains.

Back in the 90’s I went backpacking near Banf, BC and the guides were constantly on alert for Grizzly.
Seems like a seriously dumb idea.

There have been 12 bear kills in North America since 2020.

There are approximately 55,000 to 60,000 brown bears (including grizzly bears) in North America. The vast majority of these inhabit Alaska (roughly 30,000) and Western Canada (roughly 25,000). A smaller, isolated population of fewer than 2,000 exists in the contiguous United States.

Most of the kills were either involving a sow with cubs, a hunter hunting bears, or one that was taken while he was cleaning another bear he had killed in North Carolina.

I was stationed in Alaska in mid 1984 till mid 1985. We had a certain amount of bear confrontations but if retreat is possible the bears normally didn’t press the issue unless it was a sow with cubs.

“ Oregon giving cali a run for their money when it comes to stupid ideas what with their moronic efforts to ban hunting AND fishing.”

Adding to that what they’ve done to their farms and ranches, they are right on track for eating bugs and being happy. Dunb$hits.

If Grizzly Bears want to move into California, let em, but Deportation from Wyoming to California is cruel. Where’s judge Boasbrain with his injunctions?

My grandfather had a cabin in Mammoth Lakes, on the shores of Twin Lakes. It was a very peaceful place. On the wall in the living room of his cabin was a nice bear pelt, which is how men dealt with bears in the past.

Introducing GRIZZLIES to the Sierra Nevada is probably the dumbest idea I have heard in a long time. As my metal shop teacher used to say in high school; “if you can go into a dark closet, reach down and find your buttocks with two hands, you know it is dumb.”

>> Why not “reintroduce” smallpox?

We could contaminate Pali and Iranian flags with smallpox and hand ‘em out at protests! While wearing a mask of course, but that won’t attract attention...

The bears are not gonna populate the mountain tops, they’ll migrate to the foothills where, perhaps, less than a million humans live; places like Yosemite where black bear and human encounters are frequent enough

And, it remains a stupid freakin’ idea!
