Squaring the Circle use to be a big riddle for people. You don't hear about it much anymore because it was proven mathematically to be impossible to do it exactly. Pi is a Transcendental number, a notorious thing to prove even though their are an infinite amount of them .

..couldn’t accept that pi was an irrational number..

It was the square root of 2 that was first proved to be irrational . It is a legend that that supporters of Pythagoras murdered Hippasus -- who allegedly discovered the irrationality of 2–√ on a boat in the middle of the sea -- by throwing him overboard immediately after he informed them of his discovery. Hippasus pretty much destroyed the belief that the universe only had rational numbers in it.

I suspect that maybe your brain has to be wired a little differently.

Many years ago I taught a remedial math course. One of my students could barely add a column of numbers together. That’s why he was in the course.

But he could do square roots in his head. And I don’t mean just the easy ones. Ask him what the square root of 576 was, he’d think for a second then tell say 24.

I take care of my mentally challenged ex-sister-in-law. She cannot add simple numbers, but she is a date savant. She never forgets a person’s birthday and can tell you what day of the week a future date will be in just a few seconds. It’s so weird!

Today is my son’s 37th birthday. He is coincidentally a math whiz...

I did not know pi was named after Einstein’s birthday. And you should not shorten pi to 3.14. You should type the whole thing.
