I tried to memorize the value of pi out to 12 decimal places when I was younger. I wanted to be world-famous. And I was sure that would impress the ladies.
Then I found out that the current record holder had memorized the value out to 10,000 places (it’s much more now). So I gave up, and decided to find a good job instead.
Turns out that impressed the ladies even more.

For a guy as smart as Einstein that was an incredibly stupid thing to write! It just shows how some people need to stay in their own lane. Proof that people can be competent in one area and be complete fools in another! It seems like Hollywood suffers from this malady the most.
I recently pointing out to one of the engineers I work with that we cannot know, absolutely, the area of circles, as Pi was an infinite concept. I think he’s still a bit unsettled about this.

Many years ago I was reading an article about the history of mathematics. And one ancient civilization (I forget which) just couldn’t accept that pi was an irrational number. It upset the harmony of the Universe.
So they forced pi to be exactly 3.
Needless to say, their geometry suffered for it.

Trump is both President 45 and 47. 45 squared is 2025. The year he was re-elected. The Jewish Holiday of Purim is a celebration of the defeat a Persian tyrant. Trump and Israel’s attack on Iran happened because it was the perfect moment when most of Iran’s leadership was in one place. Coincidence that it happened on Purim? Not for the guy who turned his head at just the right moment!
I use pi and e =3. Works pretty good.
