President Trump on Friday said he knows the U.S. military operation in Iran will come to an end when he can “feel it in my bones,” a remark that comes almost two weeks after joint U.S. and Israeli strikes on the Middle Eastern country began.
Trump spoke with Fox News host Brian Kilmeade on his podcast “The Brian Kilmeade Show” and told him, “When it’s over –– and I don’t think it’s going to be long –– when it’s over, this is going to bounce back so fast.”
“When are you going to know when it’s over?” Kilmeade asked.
“When I feel it,” Trump said. “When I feel it in my bones.”
Kilmeade asked if it would be a “joint decision” to end the war. Trump responded by giving praise to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President Vance.
“I’ve got all good people,” the president added. “We’ve got a great group.”
Trump has floated various timetables for when the operation in Iran could end. He said two days after the initial attack that the offensive could take up to “four to five weeks” or longer.
“This was just an excursion into something that had to be done. We’re getting very close to finishing that too,” he said a week later on Monday at a House Republican retreat in Miami.
Trump also previously told Axios on Wednesday that there was “nothing left” to bomb in Iran, claiming that the U.S. is “way ahead of the timetable.”
“Any time I want it to end, it will end,” he told the outlet.
He later told supporters at a Kentucky rally that same day that Washington “won” in Iran and that the conflict was “over.”

Interesting way of saying “it ends when I end it”
I wonder why he won’t tell us and the Iranians and the saudis, the democrats, the Trump hating republicans, all the governors including the governor of Texas, who have worked toward getting Muslim conclaves in their states, what we are doing and what the plan is
Hmm.
I think it’s an interesting way of simply not answering the question at all.
The Killers - I Feel It In My Bones
The beatings will continue until morale improves.
Interesting way of saying this is harder than we thought.
He also hasn’t laid out the goal to the American people either.
If he announces (as he did) within a couple days of our attack that we’ve already won, how does he expect broad support if it takes 3 or 4 or 6 months to root out the ayatollahs? He himself has undercut the argument for greater sacrifice. In those 3 or 4 or 6 months, fuel prices will remain elevated, billions more will go into the war effort, and American casualties will mount. If he had a heart-to-heart with the American people, sitting behind the Resolute desk, and stated that we’ll need to make sacrifices to accomplish a lasting peace, a majority of Americans would support the war.
Say what you will about the Bushes, they did an awesome job of marketing their wars and rallying broad support both domestically and internationally.
Kind of....in lieu of....MYOB
Not what he said at all...
Yes.
I don’t know why these reporters think Trump is going to tell them his plans.
I find his comments ... Troubling. You don’t run a war on “feelings”. You set goals. You meet goals. You end the conflict.
“Say what you will about the Bushes, they did an awesome job of marketing their wars and rallying broad support both domestically and internationally.”
And what were they successful at doing?
I was being sarcastic
His opponents don’t take him seriously.
His adherents don’t take him literally.

No war plan survives first contact with the enemy. That’s just the way it is. Enemies have this bad habit of not doing what you want or expect them to do.
What I would find ‘troubling’ would be a President who telegraphs his war plan to every arrogant journalist who asks.
“I don’t know why these reporters think Trump is going to tell them his plans.”
Because all the previous presidents since Viet Nam, except Reagan, talked about and compromised their war plans looking to lose, or looking for approval or whatever unconstitutional nonsense they were up to
Oh except the Biden and Obama administrations didn’t have to say anything. We’re still involved with the Ukraine nonsense five years in and the Afghanistan debacle was horrific
