Is there any better evidence that the Europeans are as hidebound, bureaucratic, and ridiculous as we think they are than this statement from European Union Commissioner Ursula von der Leyen in the wake of the U.S.-Israeli strike on Iran's mullah regime?

Following the ongoing situation in Iran, I am convening a special Security College on Monday.

Don't let the bombing of Iran, the retaliatory strikes against civilians in the Gulf states, the closure of airports and vital shipping lanes, the decapitation of its mullah leadership, and even the attack on EU-member Cyprus interfere with your weekend, fellas.
The talkfest at the Security College can wait till Monday. Because nothing gets between a eurochicken and his days off.
It's by far the most telling statement about the frivolous priorities of the European Union, and the dead-serious mission to save the world from a nuclear strike of President Trump and his Israeli ally. There is even a new report out that Iran's mullahs had been cooking up new terror attacks against the West, which could directly impact Europe, and this strike was to shut it down.
But Le Weekend beckons and that's what's really important: Nothing gets between a eurochicken and his weekend.
This tells us all we need to know about most of Europe's reliability as a U.S. NATO ally. The vocal opposition to the strikes from Germany, France, the U.K. and Spain add more fuel to this fire, but the EU is the one that does it best.

Before I retired, I worked with engineers in both Germany and the UK. They never had any sense of urgency about anything. Quitting time was quitting time. Vacations were sacred. They thought Americans were crazy for prioritizing work. The Europeans prioritized recreation.
I call them Euro Weenies. Euro chickens works fine also. They are irrelevant for the most part.

At the top, they created Israel and run the US economy and, through Israel, the US government. No need for them to actually do much directly themselves. They rely on the Israeli brains and US muscle.
They are concerned. Nothing better than a meeting to express it.

1 - When I was stationed at Geilenkirchen NAB, Germany (96-2000), I was heading for a homicide conference with OSI agents in Garmisch. They brought their local office lackey with them (German). First, he was pissed off we were doing the entire 7 hour drive in one day. Then he was pissed that we wouldn’t stop at every rest/travel stop on the autobahn so he could get coffee. The incessant whining was really grating. Halfway through the conference we put him on train back home.
2 - NATO units always added one or two days at every NATO observed holiday. You could guarantee their offices were shut down for five days straight every month…sometimes longer.
