The economy is improving, which is why it’s terrible for the economy.
There it is, always bad. Can count on CNN to always make anything good for Americans with Trump in office as anything but bad.
No mention of affordability here, conveniently forgotten to tell us why lower prices are actually a bad thing.
Eggs or overall? Overall, prices are higher than last year. That’s the nature of inflation. One would need deflation to even return to past normality. The rate of inflation is down, but we are higher than last year.
Must it always be one or the other being screwed by the going retail price?
Is there no median where both Egg Farmers and Consumers are going to be satisfied?
Maybe it’s always been this way; Teeter-Totter style.
I have never examined it very closely.
Ah, CNN, where their motto is “Inside every silver lining is a deep, dark cloud.”
Well duh, free market at work, higher supply = lower price.
Controlled market: Low price = low supply.
Good old CNN; always looking on the gloomy side. Wait til beef prices come down; their hair will really be on fire then!
Extraordinary headline - they will report it as bad news if egg prices rise - and also report it as bad news if egg prices fall.
And Trump’s fault in both cases.
Not lower where I live.
Or is CNN gaslighting us AGAIN?
I am paying my local egg farming families the same price whether the store prices are higher or lower. That’s my agreement with them. I want them to stay in business, because I want their farm fresh eggs.
No matter what happens in a Republican administration it is BAD where cnn is concerned.
No matter what happens in a demoncrap administration it is just wonderful where cnn is concerned.
Too few eggs from two few chickens a year ago sure turned around fast.
Don’t look for the same thing from beef. A 450 lb calf is bumping 2 Grand and a replacement Heifer is hitting $3,500. Cow calf pairs are about $4,400. They were all about half that a year and a half ago and I thought that was stupid high.
Even at the higher prices, that was not a benefitt for those who raised chickens.
Can not win with these nut jobs:
“The price of eggs is rising, hurting the American citizen.”
“The price of eggs is falling, hurting the American farmers.”
It’s Always Something.
t just got a dozen eggs for $1.50.
Quit messing around with the market. Let the market work it out. Egg producers at the margin will drop out, supply will decrease and prices will increase. At some point, equilibrium will be established, perhaps at a higher price that currently seen, but lower than that of a year ago. If it’s too high for you, don’t buy them. If you think it’s “too low”, eat a few more omelettes. The important thing is to let the farmers make the decisions and see where prices land after the dust settles.
Think of all the homeless chickens.
My brother never noticed he has 6 chickens ,LOL
